Thick extruded carbon block technology defines this high-capacity cartridge, suitable for point-of-entry lead and cyst reduction.

Molded with specialized lead-adsorbing binders, the elongated carbon block media is supported by polypropylene end caps and high-temperature gaskets. The nominal dimensions are specified as 20 inches in length by 4.5 inches in outer diameter. The cartridge is independently certified to CSA Standard B483.1.

Lead and cyst reduction is performed mechanically through a nominal 0.5-micron rating, which captures microscopic pathogens including giardia and cryptosporidium. It operates on cold water lines with highest temperature capabilities up to 51.7 degrees Celsius, achieving significant chemical adsorption.

Positioned vertically in the second housing sump of the whole-house system, the element is identified by part number PB5520. It provides extended service life due to its elongated physical size and high carbon volume. Servicing guidelines recommend replacing the cartridge every 6 to 12 months depending on water usage.
