Product Overview

Designed for borehole applications, the Lowara 16GS22 represents a high-efficiency hydraulic wet end within the e-GS line. This pump end must be coupled with a 2.2 kW (2.93 HP) motor to become fully operational. Standard well installation is vertical, though horizontal deployment is permissible.

An outer sleeve of stainless steel protects the multi-stage hydraulic pathways. The assembly utilizes 12 floating impellers made of PC/PPO + PS polymer components. The system handles suspended sand up to a maximum concentration of 150 grams per cubic meter.

Pairing this multi-stage wet end with a compatible 2.2 kW motor (rated at 14.4 Amps on a 240 V single-phase connection) enables a maximum head of 45.9 m. The pump end delivers a maximum flow of 367 L/Min through its Rp 2" (50 mm) outlet. Flow parameters follow manufacturer data.

The pump end is specified for continuous water temperatures up to a maximum of 35°C. Submergence limits are 150 meters with 4OS motors and up to 300 meters with L4C motor options. Horizontal installation is possible up to standard motor-rated power limits. The multi-stage design requires proper coupling with standard motors to maintain correct performance under standard system heads.

FEATURES

  • Equipped with 12 multi-stage floating impellers designed to minimize abrasive wear from sand particulates.
  • The external sleeve is fabricated from durable stainless steel to prevent rust and prolong operating life.
  • Includes a built-in stainless steel non-return valve in the discharge head to prevent damaging backflow.
  • The hexagonal shaft distributes mechanical torque evenly, eliminating vulnerable keyed connections.
  • Features precision-cast stainless steel upper and lower brackets to maintain alignment with the motor.
  • Complies fully with the Minimum Efficiency Index threshold of 0.40 under European ErP directives.
  • Designed to safely handle water temperatures up to 35°C in continuous underwater applications.

What kilowatt power and voltage supply must be supplied to this submersible motor?

Operating the 16GS22 wet end requires coupling with a 2.2 kW motor on 220–240 V, 50 Hz, single-phase drawing 14.4 A (with optional 380–415 V, 50 Hz, three-phase motor support).

Does this submersible pump incorporate a non-return valve and allow horizontal installation?

Water backflow prevention is integrated into the 16GS-22 discharge head via a stainless-steel non-return valve, with horizontal orientation allowed at a minimum recommended 3° incline with the motor lowest.

How deep below ground level can this submersible unit lift water to the surface?

Generating substantial vertical pressure, the 16 GS 22 achieves a maximum dynamic head of approximately 45.9 m to push water out of deep well shafts.

What size fitting attaches to the delivery connection and what peak flow rate is achieved?

The delivery outlet incorporates a standard 50 mm (Rp 2") thread, allowing the 16_GS_22 to achieve a peak flow rate of approximately 367 L/Min when seated in standard 4-inch (100 mm) or larger borehole casings.

Can this submersible bore pump withstand mineralized groundwater and suspended particles?

Erosion and corrosion protection are built into the 16GS22 through stainless steel external casing with floating impellers made of PC/PPO + PS polymer components, which manage abrasive grit up to 150 g/m³.
