Product Overview

For childcare centres and clinic fitouts that live on steady warm-water supply, a factory-assembled Hydro Multi-E 2 CRE 5-4 package provides a well-matched solution, with two CRE 5-4 pumps staged against the demand curve. The complete system ships factory assembled and tested under part number 99614327.

This set provides up to 304 L/min of flow capacity. Variable-speed operation can develop up to 38 metres of head where required. There is no separate central controller to purchase: Multi-Master control resides within the pumps, either unit can assume the controlling role, and a fault is handed over cleanly without interrupting supply.

Factory assembled on a common base, the set combines stainless steel pipework, two 50 mm manifold connections, isolation and non-return valves, pressure sensors and a gauge, plus a 24L diaphragm tank. It connects to a 1 x 200-240 V supply at 50 / 60 Hz with a rated current of 9.02 A. Motors are protected to IP54, while maximum system pressure is 10 bar. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C. Inlet pressure is rated to 10 bar.

Applications include aged-care complexes, hospitals and hotel plant rooms. The control flexibility suits clean-water boosting in new installations and upgrades.

Features

  • Slow-speed duty and staged switching keep consumption down through low-demand hours.
  • Setup and monitoring run through the Grundfos GO app rather than a panel visit.
  • Multi-Master redundancy means either pump can act as controller, with seamless changeover on fault.
  • Two Grundfos CRE 5-4 pumps share the boosting work in parallel.
  • The stainless steel manifold assembly is supplied with two 50 mm manifold connections.
  • Each pump is driven by IE5 permanent magnet motors with frequency-controlled speed matching demand.
  • Constant pressure control holds the delivered pressure flat while proportional mode lets setpoints flex with demand.
  • Dry-running protection is built into the control, protecting the pumps if the suction supply is interrupted.
  • The package is wet-tested and pre-configured, requiring only pipework and power on site.
  • The set ships with an 24L precharged diaphragm tank for low-flow stability.
  • At P2 each main pump is 0.75 kW, covering the duty without oversizing the frame.
  • Rated for 10 bar system pressure; motors carry IP54 protection.
  • Pumps are cut in and out according to demand, every running unit turning at the same speed to hold the pressure set point.

Which total water transfer rate does this variable speed booster system displace under full duty?

Operating across its factory curve, the Grundfos Hydro Multi-E 2 CRE 5-4 U8 A-A-I-I-DU discharges up to 304 L/min of clean water to maintain consistent line pressure during peak demand cycles.

Which variable speed motor technology provides mechanical power to the pumps on this skid?

Each centrifugal stage of the Hydro Multi-E 2 CRE 5-4 is driven by a 0.75 kW IE5 permanent-magnet MGE electric motor running on 1 x 200-240 V power, utilizing built-in variable speed drives to adjust output dynamically.

Under peak elevation requirements, what total dynamic head does this booster set achieve?

Elevating water across multi-level pipework, the Hydro-Multi-E-2-CRE-5-4 maintains up to 38 m total dynamic head with an overall 10 bar maximum operating limit.

What manifold port diameters and check valve fittings connect the pumps on this booster assembly?

Plumbed for rapid site installation, the Hydro Multi E 2 CRE 5 4 includes R 2 stainless steel headers equipped with dedicated isolating valves, check valves, and pressure transmitters.

What manufacturer warranty backing supports this packaged variable speed pump set?

Grundfos provides two-year manufacturer warranty coverage on the 2 CRE 5-4 (Hydro Multi-E), securing the complete multi-pump package, manifolds, and integrated electronics.
