Product Overview

Residential towers and medium commercial sites outgrowing their mains pressure rely on booster systems with no tolerance for pressure variation, and the Hydro Multi-E 3 CRE 15-3 is engineered for exactly that duty. Specify part number 99614451 and the whole set lands tested, assembled and ready for pipework.

It handles flows up to 1279 L/min across the system. The pumps can develop up to 59 metres of head when pressure demand increases. Because every pump carries its own frequency converter and the Multi-Master software elects the controlling pump itself, losing a control unit or pressure sensor means seamless handover rather than a shutdown.

For installation, the booster is supplied pre-assembled with stainless steel manifolds, two 100 mm manifold connections, isolation valves, non-return valves, pressure sensors and a gauge, plus a 24L diaphragm tank. It is designed for 3 x 380-415 V power at 50 / 60 Hz with a rated current of 18.6 A, with IP54 motor protection and a 10 bar maximum system pressure. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C. Inlet pressure is rated to 10 bar.

Applications include high-rise apartments, industrial process supply and aged-care complexes. The control flexibility suits clean-water boosting in new installations and upgrades.

Features

  • An integrated 24L diaphragm tank carries small draw-offs and limits pump cycling.
  • The stainless steel manifold assembly is supplied with two 100 mm manifold connections.
  • The package is wet-tested and pre-configured, requiring only pipework and power on site.
  • Both constant-pressure and proportional-pressure modes are available, so plant rooms can tune response to pipework.
  • Setup and monitoring run through the Grundfos GO app rather than a panel visit.
  • Multi-Master redundancy means either pump can act as controller, with seamless changeover on fault.
  • Each main pump is rated 3 kW (P2), so per-pump draw scales down as speed follows demand.
  • Cascade logic brings pumps on-line and off-line against changing demand without manual intervention.
  • Three Grundfos CRE 15-3 vertical multistage pumps run in parallel on one common base frame.
  • Maximum operating pressure of 10 bar with motors sealed to IP54.
  • The system protects its pumps against dry running if the incoming supply is lost.
  • Power use precisely tracks demand, avoiding the waste of fixed-speed alternates.
  • Each pump is driven by IE5 permanent magnet motors with frequency-controlled speed matching demand.
