The Grundfos JP 5-48 is a self-priming jet pump designed for domestic water supply, garden irrigation, and water transfer applications. With strong suction capability, it is ideal for drawing water from wells, ground tanks, and below-ground sources where the pump is installed above the water level.
The pump is constructed with a stainless steel housing (AISI 304) and a composite impeller (PPO-20GF), ensuring excellent corrosion resistance and durability. The integrated ejector with guide vanes enhances self-priming performance and allows the pump to handle air-liquid mixtures during priming, ensuring reliable start-up.
According to the performance data, the pump operates at a rated flow of 5 m³/h with a corresponding head of 45.6 metres. It achieves a maximum head of 48 metres at shut-off conditions. Based on the performance curve shown on page 3, the pump delivers practical usable flow across domestic pressure ranges and supports a suction lift of up to 8 metres.
The unit is powered by a 1.014 kW electric motor operating on a 1 x 230 V, 50 Hz supply, with a rated current of 6.6 Amps. It features built-in thermal protection to prevent overheating and includes sealed, grease-for-life ball bearings for quiet and maintenance-free operation.
