Product Overview
Belonging to the 4-inch e-GS borehole range, the Lowara 12GS40 submersible pump end is a multi-stage hydraulic wet end. This component must be coupled to a compatible 4.0 kW (5.33 HP) motor to become functional. Standard well deployment is vertical, with horizontal mounting also available.
The wet end is built with a stainless steel outer sleeve to protect internal parts. Inside the pump casing, 25 floating impellers made of wear-resistant polymer components are arranged in series. The system allows handling of suspended sand up to 150 grams per cubic meter.
When paired with a 4.0 kW electric motor drawing a rated current of 9.8 Amps (415 V three-phase supply), the coupled wet end reaches a maximum head of 100.9 m. The pump end achieves a maximum flow of 250 L/Min via a 50 mm Rp outlet. Water flow is handled by the multi-stage hydraulics.
The hydraulic wet end is specified for submerged operations in liquid temperatures reaching up to 35°C. Operating depth limits are 150 meters with 4OS motors and up to 300 meters with L4C motors. Horizontal use is permissible with 4OS motors up to 2.2 kW and L4C motors up to 7.5 kW. The multi-stage design requires proper coupling with standard motors to maintain correct performance under standard system heads.

What motor rating and electrical supply configuration are needed for this pump?
The electric motor driving the 12GS40 is rated at 4.0 kW and operates on 380–415 V, 50 Hz, three-phase, pulling approximately 9.8 A.
Is an integrated non-return valve built into the head and can this pump mount on an angle?
Protection from reverse fluid return is handled by an integrated stainless-steel non-return valve inside the 12GS-40, and horizontal installations are supported at a minimum recommended 3° incline with the motor lowest.
How effectively does this borehole pump push water up through long vertical pipe columns?
Subterranean borehole lifting duties are served by the 12 GS 40, which reaches a maximum dynamic head of approximately 100.9 m under standard test ratings.
What size riser pipe connects to the delivery port and how much water flow does it produce?
Discharge connections are made using the 50 mm (Rp 2") threaded port, through which the 12_GS_40 supplies up to approximately 250 L/Min inside standard 4-inch (100 mm) or larger borehole casings.
What grade of stainless steel alloy protects this pump from corrosive well environments?
Groundwater minerals and abrasive particulates are resisted by stainless steel external casing with floating impellers made of PC/PPO + PS polymer in the 12GS40, which supports a sand capacity of up to 150 g/m³.
