Product Overview
The Lowara 4ZN646/5 is engineered as a standalone submersible wet end, belonging to the borehole water extraction line of the Z6 Series. Operating this wet end requires secure coupling with a compatible 7.5 kW electric motor of the appropriate power rating. Designed for secure installation inside standard 6-inch deep wells, the assembly operates inside standard casings. It is suitable for groundwater supply and irrigation systems, municipal supply lines, and agricultural distribution projects.
To support long-term physical stability during operation, the structural sleeve and discharge head are engineered from cast AISI 316 Stainless Steel. The multi-stage centrifugal hydraulic assembly consists of 5 stages, each incorporating an AISI 316L stainless steel radial impeller. The integrated radial impellers are designed to limit abrasive wear from sand particles, supporting water containing up to 100 g/m³ of suspended sand.
Once paired with its designated 7.5 kW electric motor (nominal current rating of 18.1 Amps), the coupled assembly achieves up to 51.7 m maximum head. This multi-stage hydraulic wet end generates a maximum flow of 1,000 L/Min through its Rp 80 mm threaded connection. All performance parameters are in accordance with manufacturer technical specifications.
The pump has a maximum external diameter of 142 mm for installation inside standard 6-inch borehole wells. Maximum pump immersion depth is 300 m when used with C4S motors and 350 m when used with L6W motors. The lower support bracket incorporates a standard 4" NEMA-compliant mount for simple mechanical motor integration. Safe coupling requires correct mechanical alignment of the pump shaft and the motor shaft during mechanical coupling.

Does this borehole pump feature corrosion-resistant metallurgy for long underground service?
Internal and external corrosion defense relies on AISI 316 stainless steel pump end, AISI 316L stainless steel impellers and diffusers with removable wear rings, Duplex UNS S 31803 shaft, and Duplex UNS S 32304 coupling in the 4ZN646/5, which effectively manages gritty borehole water with sand up to 100 g/m³.
What electrical supply voltage and motor power are specified for this pumping unit?
Powering the 4ZN646-5 necessitates a 4-inch NEMA compatible C4S motor providing 7.5 kW on 380–415 V, 50 Hz, three-phase with 18.1 A current, accommodating water temperatures up to 60°C and immersion to 300 meters.
Is a non-return valve built into the outlet and is horizontal deployment permissible?
An integrated stainless steel non-return valve in the discharge head of the 4 ZN 646 5 prevents line drainage, while horizontal installation is fully supported at a minimum recommended 3° incline with the motor positioned lowest.
Will this submersible bore pump lift water efficiently from deep subterranean strata?
In subterranean extraction setups, the 4_ZN_646_5 maintains a maximum dynamic head capability of approximately 51.7 m, lifting groundwater smoothly to ground level.
What outlet connection size does this unit have and what is the top water delivery volume?
The delivery column connects via the top Rp 3" (80 mm) threaded port, with the 4ZN646/5 generating a maximum discharge rate of approximately 1000 L/Min in standard 6-inch borehole installations.
