Product Overview
As a standalone hydraulic wet end, the Lowara ZN631/9 represents a technical solution within the Z6 Series range of submersible borehole pumps. Operating this wet end requires secure coupling with a compatible 11 kW electric motor of the appropriate power rating. Designed for secure installation inside standard 6-inch deep wells, the assembly operates inside standard casings. It is suitable for groundwater supply and irrigation systems, municipal supply lines, and agricultural distribution projects.
To support long-term physical stability during operation, the structural sleeve and discharge head are engineered from cast AISI 316 Stainless Steel. The multi-stage centrifugal hydraulic assembly consists of 9 stages, each incorporating an AISI 316L stainless steel radial impeller. The integrated radial impellers are designed to limit abrasive wear from sand particles, supporting water containing up to 100 g/m³ of suspended sand.
Once paired with its designated 11 kW electric motor (nominal current rating of 23.1 Amps), the coupled assembly achieves up to 130.8 m maximum head. This multi-stage hydraulic wet end generates a maximum flow of 667 L/Min through its Rp 80 mm threaded connection. All performance parameters are in accordance with manufacturer technical specifications.
The pump has a maximum external diameter of 142 mm for installation inside standard 6-inch borehole wells. Maximum pump immersion depth is 300 m when used with C4S motors and 350 m when used with L6W motors. The lower support bracket incorporates a standard 6" NEMA-compliant mount for simple mechanical motor integration. Safe coupling requires correct mechanical alignment of the pump shaft and the motor shaft during mechanical coupling.

Which operating voltage and motor power rating are required to run this borehole unit?
The electric drive on the ZN631/9 is rated for 11 kW and requires a 6-inch NEMA L6W connection on 380–415 V, 50 Hz, three-phase pulling 23.1 A.
Is an internal check valve fitted to the discharge port and can this unit be laid horizontally?
Reverse fluid flow is prevented by an integrated stainless steel non-return valve in the ZN631-9 delivery outlet, while horizontal placement is supported at a minimum recommended 3° incline with the motor positioned lowest.
Can this submersible bore pump achieve reliable vertical elevation from deep wells?
Under challenging vertical extraction duties, the ZN 631 9 develops a maximum dynamic head of approximately 130.8 m, maintaining steady discharge pressure.
What connection size attaches to the top delivery port and what flow is achieved?
Riser pipes join to the top Rp 3" (80 mm) delivery connection, allowing the ZN_631_9 to pump up to a peak flow rate of approximately 667 L/Min in standard 6-inch borehole installations.
What materials prevent abrasive wear and corrosion inside this borehole pumping unit?
Designed to resist corrosive borehole elements, the ZN631/9 combines AISI 316 stainless steel pump end, AISI 316L stainless steel impellers and diffusers with removable wear rings, Duplex UNS S 31803 shaft, and Duplex UNS S 32304 coupling with high sand passage capacity up to 100 g/m³.
