Product Overview

As a standalone hydraulic wet end, the Lowara ZN646/12 represents a technical solution within the Z6 Series range of submersible borehole pumps. Operating this wet end requires secure coupling with a compatible 15 kW electric motor of the appropriate power rating. Designed for secure installation inside standard 6-inch deep wells, the assembly operates inside standard casings. It is suitable for groundwater supply and irrigation systems, municipal supply lines, and agricultural distribution projects.

To support long-term physical stability during operation, the structural sleeve and discharge head are engineered from cast AISI 316 Stainless Steel. The multi-stage centrifugal hydraulic assembly consists of 12 stages, each incorporating an AISI 316L stainless steel radial impeller. The integrated radial impellers are designed to limit abrasive wear from sand particles, supporting water containing up to 100 g/m³ of suspended sand.

Once paired with its designated 15 kW electric motor (nominal current rating of 32.1 Amps), the coupled assembly achieves up to 122.8 m maximum head. This multi-stage hydraulic wet end generates a maximum flow of 1,000 L/Min through its Rp 80 mm threaded connection. All performance parameters are in accordance with manufacturer technical specifications.

The pump has a maximum external diameter of 142 mm for installation inside standard 6-inch borehole wells. Maximum pump immersion depth is 300 m when used with C4S motors and 350 m when used with L6W motors. The lower support bracket incorporates a standard 6" NEMA-compliant mount for simple mechanical motor integration. Safe coupling requires correct mechanical alignment of the pump shaft and the motor shaft during mechanical coupling.

What motor rating and electrical supply configuration are needed for this pump?

Connecting the ZN646/12 to power involves a 6-inch NEMA L6W motor rated at 15 kW operating across 380–415 V, 50 Hz, three-phase with 32.1 A current, with operating limits up to 35°C and immersion to 350 meters.

Is an integrated non-return valve built into the head and can this pump mount on an angle?

Protection from reverse fluid return is handled by an integrated stainless steel non-return valve inside the ZN646-12, and horizontal installations are supported at a minimum recommended 3° incline with the motor lowest.

How effectively does this borehole pump push water up through long vertical pipe columns?

Subterranean borehole lifting duties are served by the ZN 646 12, which reaches a maximum dynamic head of approximately 122.8 m under standard test ratings.

What size riser pipe connects to the delivery port and how much water flow does it produce?

Discharge connections are made using the Rp 3" (80 mm) threaded port, through which the ZN_646_12 supplies up to approximately 1000 L/Min inside standard 6-inch borehole installations.

What grade of stainless steel alloy protects this pump from corrosive well environments?

Groundwater minerals and abrasive particulates are resisted by AISI 316 stainless steel pump end, AISI 316L stainless steel impellers and diffusers with removable wear rings, Duplex UNS S 31803 shaft, and Duplex UNS S 32304 coupling in the ZN646/12, which supports a sand capacity of up to 100 g/m³.
