AstralPool Viron eQuilibrium EQ18 Salt Chlorinator for Pool Water Balance with Intelligent pH Control

Balancing water chemistry often involves more than simply producing chlorine, which is where the AstralPool Viron eQuilibrium EQ18 separates itself from conventional chlorinators. Designed as an intelligent pool management platform, the system combines chlorination with semi-automatic pH control, allowing acid dosing to be adjusted according to chlorinator cell output. This coordinated approach helps maintain more consistent water conditions while reducing the amount of manual intervention required throughout the swimming season.

Control and monitoring can be performed through the ChlorinatorGO Bluetooth® app, providing convenient wireless access to key operating functions without requiring visits to the equipment area. Four programmable timers and two dedicated light timers allow filtration and lighting schedules to be customised around pool usage patterns, while compatibility with the Viron Connect ecosystem provides a pathway for broader equipment integration.

The platform can also be expanded through optional sensing equipment. A pH sensor and pH sensor kit can be added for automatic pH monitoring and control, while the optional Gold Tip ORP sensor enables automated chlorine level management. When connected to a Viron XT variable speed pump, AI Mode introduces advanced automation capabilities that can automatically adjust operating hours, chlorine production, pH balance and water turnover according to pool conditions.

Producing up to 18 g/h of chlorine, the EQ18 is recommended for pools up to 50,000 litres in temperate climates and 40,000 litres in tropical climates. The chlorinator operates across salt concentrations from 3,000–8,000 ppm, with 4,000 ppm recommended for normal operation. Maximum filter pump current draw is rated at 8.5 amps, and the system supports Standard, Balance, Pro and Total AI Mode configurations depending on installed accessories and sensors.
