Fast-changing stormwater demand is easier to handle with the MATelec HydroTOUCH FPC-43320-D, a 3 kW triplex controller supplied with a 16 bar pressure transducer. This controller operates on a standard three-phase power supply of 400 Vac at 50 Hz, adjusting VSD speed based on live transducer inputs. Based on real-time sensor feedback, the system adjusts pump performance to maintain the configured operating conditions.
Motor frequency is controlled using PID speed control in pressure, flow and temperature modes, or proportional speed control in level mode. To eliminate high starting currents and minimize pipeline water hammer, the control panel executes staggered pump starting and stopping sequences. Operating hours are distributed evenly across the pump drives using integrated duty alternation and automatic sharing algorithms.
An integrated Setup Wizard on the 7-inch touchscreen HMI simplifies system commissioning. Users can monitor real-time power and water usage graphs, historical trend plots, and system event logs directly from the screen.
Din rail mounted terminals are provided for dual 4–20 mA inputs for level, pressure or temperature transducers, plus up to five 24 Vdc digital inputs. Standard RCD protection is not recommended because VSD EMC filtering can cause nuisance tripping. If RCD protection is required, Type B RCDs must be used with consideration of VSD earth leakage current.
