Product Overview

Operating with a 7.5 kW motor rating, the NB 40-200/188 end-suction centrifugal pump features end-suction axial inlet (DN 65) and top radial outlet (DN 40) connections. The pump is specified for district heating, commercial air conditioning loops, and industrial water distribution.

The pump's hydraulic assembly yields 808 L/Min rated flow volume and a maximum operational head of 36.34 m. Structural strength relies on an EN-GJL-250 cast iron casing with cataphoresis coating. Internal hydraulics feature a stainless steel impeller and BQQE shaft seal. Physical product weight equals 116 kg.

The NB 40-200/188 pump's 415 V three-phase drive motor delivers 7.5 kW power output while drawing 14.3 Amps operating current. The pump accommodates circulating fluid temperatures from -25°C to 120°C under working pressures up to 16 bar. Standardized DN 65 suction and DN 40 discharge ports facilitate line placement.

An IP55 enclosure rating protects motor components on the NB 40-200/188 unit, backed by Class F insulation and built-in PTC thermistor sensors. Scheduled maintenance routines utilize back-pull-out access, enabling motor drive and impeller removal while leaving volute casing flange joints intact.

Features

  • All stainless steel shaft construction provides improved corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel alternatives in wetted service areas.
  • Mechanical shaft seal can be replaced without removing the impeller, system piping, pump volute casing or drive motor from the installation.
  • Housing, impeller and wear ring use dissimilar material pairings to prevent galling and ensure no sticking elements during extended standby periods.
  • High-efficiency motor selection is configured to match the specific power supply characteristics, pumping environment and liquid properties of each installation.
  • Back pull-out design allows complete rotating assembly removal including motor, coupling and impeller without disturbing pump housing or connected pipework.
  • EN733 and ISO2858 dimensional compliance ensures interchangeability with other standard end-suction pumps across commercial and industrial installations.
  • ATEX Zone 1, 2, 21 or 22 certification available for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres (except E-model variants).

Which robust materials of construction are selected for the wet end of this heavy end-suction pump?

To resist hydrodynamic cavitation across district headers, Grundfos NB 40-200/188 pairs an electrocoated cast iron body with a durable stainless steel impeller.

Which electrical parameters in wattage, operating voltage, and full load amps govern this pump?

Electrical specifications for NB 40-200/188 indicate a 7.5 kW motor requiring a three-phase 415 V connection with a full-load draw of 14.3 Amps.

How extreme can circulating water temperatures become under maximum system line pressure on site?

Circulating media temperatures from -25°C to 120°C are accommodated by NB-40-200-188 with pressure retention to 16 bar.

Overcoming steep topographical elevation changes, how high can this heavy volute pump propel liquid?

To support expansive multi-building distribution networks, NB 40 200 188 provides a peak dynamic elevation of approximately 36.34 m.

In centralized district energy plants, how many liters of liquid can this heavy pump move?

Supplying heavy circulating liquid to district headers, NB/40/200/188 delivers an operational throughput of approximately 808 L/Min.
