Product Overview

Driven by a 30 kW electric motor, the NB 40-250/260 end-suction centrifugal pump features an axial suction port (DN 65) and a radial discharge port (DN 40). Specified for commercial HVAC circulation, district heating installations, and industrial process water distribution, the pump mounts securely onto floor inertia bases in mechanical plant rooms.

Hydraulic wet-end output delivers a rated flow volume of 1125 L/Min with a maximum operational head limit of 83.21 m. The EN-GJL-250 cast iron casing receives cataphoresis electrocoating to limit surface oxidation. Inside, a stainless steel impeller works alongside bronze wear rings and a BQQE shaft seal. Physical net weight measures 274 kg.

Electrical power for the NB 40-250/260 model is supplied by a 415 V three-phase electric motor rated at 30 kW output power. Nominal operating current draw measures 56.0 Amps during full load operations. Operating liquid temperatures span from -25°C to 120°C under 16 bar working pressure. Suction inlet measures DN 65 with a DN 40 discharge port.

Motor protection on the NB 40-250/260 pump complies with IP55 enclosure standards to resist dust and moisture ingress, supported by Class F thermal insulation and internal PTC thermistors. The back-pull-out casing layout allows service personnel to remove the motor drive and rotor assembly without unbolting the pump volute from system suction and discharge piping headers.

Features

  • Close-coupled configuration eliminates coupling alignment procedures and reduces overall installation footprint compared to long-coupled alternatives.
  • Ball bearing support arrangement accommodates both radial and axial thrust loads generated during continuous duty operation at rated speed.
  • PN16 flanged connection ratings on sizes up to and including DN 150 provide elevated working pressure capability beyond standard EN733 10 bar ratings.
  • O-ring seal between pump housing and cover eliminates leakage risk at the volute-to-cover joint under sustained operating pressures.
  • Optimised impeller and volute hydraulics deliver unimpeded liquid flow through the pump casing, reducing internal turbulence losses.
  • All stainless steel shaft construction provides improved corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel alternatives in wetted service areas.
  • Mechanical shaft seal can be replaced without removing the impeller, system piping, pump volute casing or drive motor from the installation.

Which motor output rating, three phase electrical supply, and operational current run this heavy machine?

Current draw for Grundfos NB 40-250/260 stands at 56.0 Amps across a three-phase 415 V supply to operate its 30 kW motor under full load.

In high-pressure heating circuits, what temperature range and system pressure containment are supported?

Thermal capabilities engineered into NB 40-250/260 permit media temperatures across -25°C to 120°C under working pressures up to 10 bar.

Operating on rigid inertia foundations, what peak dynamic head is generated across primary headers?

Heavy-duty induction motor power allows NB-40-250-260 to sustain a peak dynamic head of approximately 83.21 m.

Through heavy-duty municipal headers, what maximum volumetric liquid capacity is achieved on site?

Moving pressurized water with minimal line turbulence, NB 40 250 260 achieves a flow capacity of approximately 1125 L/Min.

For long-term pressure retention, what cast iron grade is specified for this heavy-duty pump body?

Erosion resistance across primary transmission loops is provided in NB/40/250/260 by a heavy cast iron body and a precision-cast bronze impeller.
