Product Overview

Featuring an end-suction structural layout with DN 65 axial suction and DN 40 radial discharge ports, the NB 40-315/298 pump processes clean liquid media across active HVAC circuits. Powered by a 30 kW electric motor, the system operates across continuous commercial pumping cycles.

The hydraulic wet-end achieves a rated flow capacity of 666 L/Min with a maximum head rating of 100.8 m. Cast iron housing materials provide solid pressure containment up to 16 bar. The internal assembly houses a stainless steel impeller fitted with bronze wear rings. Net equipment weight is 314 kg.

Power specifications for the NB 40-315/298 end-suction pump call for a 415 V three-phase electrical supply rated at 30 kW motor power. Current draw under load measures 56 Amps. Operating fluid temperatures span -25°C to 120°C with a maximum working pressure rating of 16 bar. The housing features DN 65 axial suction and DN 40 radial discharge ports.

The NB 40-315/298 electric motor carries an IP55 ingress protection rating alongside Class F thermal insulation and integrated PTC thermistors. System maintenance relies on back-pull-out architecture, enabling drive head disassembly while the pump volute stays secured to concrete foundation bases and pipe runs.

Features

  • O-ring seal between pump housing and cover eliminates leakage risk at the volute-to-cover joint under sustained operating pressures.
  • Optimised impeller and volute hydraulics deliver unimpeded liquid flow through the pump casing, reducing internal turbulence losses.
  • All stainless steel shaft construction provides improved corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel alternatives in wetted service areas.
  • Mechanical shaft seal can be replaced without removing the impeller, system piping, pump volute casing or drive motor from the installation.
  • Housing, impeller and wear ring use dissimilar material pairings to prevent galling and ensure no sticking elements during extended standby periods.
  • High-efficiency motor selection is configured to match the specific power supply characteristics, pumping environment and liquid properties of each installation.
  • Back pull-out design allows complete rotating assembly removal including motor, coupling and impeller without disturbing pump housing or connected pipework.

In large-scale district heating facilities, what total vertical column does this pump overcome?

Supplying strong upward pressure to primary manifolds, Grundfos NB 40-315/298 provides a dynamic lift of approximately 100.8 m.

Under ongoing full load demand, what peak volumetric water volume does this end-suction pump discharge?

In primary district boiler headers, NB 40-315/298 sustains a maximum volumetric flow rate of approximately 666 L/Min.

In terms of physical toughness, which metals form the heavy volute casing and rotating closed runner?

Durable hydronic containment in NB-40-315-298 is maintained by an electrocoated cast iron housing alongside a precision-cast bronze impeller.

Under peak mechanical load, what power consumption, electrical feed, and current draw are listed on site?

Electrical infrastructure for NB 40 315 298 requires a three-phase 415 V connection to run its 30 kW motor at an amperage of 56.0 Amps.

Across process circulating lines, what media temperature span and pressure limit are permissible on site?

Safe fluid containment in NB/40/315/298 is preserved for circulating media from -25°C to 120°C up to a line pressure limit of 16 bar.
