Product Overview
Driven by a 5.5 kW electric motor, the NB 50-160/136 end-suction centrifugal pump features an axial suction port (DN 65) and a radial discharge port (DN 50). Specified for commercial HVAC circulation, district heating installations, and industrial process water distribution, the pump mounts securely onto floor inertia bases in mechanical plant rooms.
Hydraulic wet-end output delivers a rated flow volume of 1162 L/Min with a maximum operational head limit of 20.75 m. The EN-GJL-250 cast iron casing receives cataphoresis electrocoating to limit surface oxidation. Inside, a stainless steel impeller works alongside bronze wear rings and a BQQE shaft seal. Physical net weight measures 104 kg.
Electrical power for the NB 50-160/136 model is supplied by a 415 V three-phase electric motor rated at 5.5 kW output power. Nominal operating current draw measures 10.5 Amps during full load operations. Operating liquid temperatures span from -25°C to 120°C under 16 bar working pressure. Suction inlet measures DN 80 with a DN 50 discharge port.
Motor protection on the NB 50-160/136 pump complies with IP55 enclosure standards to resist dust and moisture ingress, supported by Class F thermal insulation and internal PTC thermistors. The back-pull-out casing layout allows service personnel to remove the motor drive and rotor assembly without unbolting the pump volute from system suction and discharge piping headers.
Features
- Ball bearing support arrangement accommodates both radial and axial thrust loads generated during continuous duty operation at rated speed.
- PN16 flanged connection ratings on sizes up to and including DN 150 provide elevated working pressure capability beyond standard EN733 10 bar ratings.
- O-ring seal between pump housing and cover eliminates leakage risk at the volute-to-cover joint under sustained operating pressures.
- Optimised impeller and volute hydraulics deliver unimpeded liquid flow through the pump casing, reducing internal turbulence losses.
- All stainless steel shaft construction provides improved corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel alternatives in wetted service areas.
- Mechanical shaft seal can be replaced without removing the impeller, system piping, pump volute casing or drive motor from the installation.
- Housing, impeller and wear ring use dissimilar material pairings to prevent galling and ensure no sticking elements during extended standby periods.

Under full-speed rotational forces, what structural metals resist mechanical fatigue on site?
Cataphoresis electrocoating protects the baseplate volute of Grundfos NB 50-160/136, which operates with a precision-cast bronze impeller.
For heavy-duty municipal operation, what incoming voltage, motor power, and full load amps are needed?
To drive the end-suction runner, NB 50-160/136 utilizes a 5.5 kW motor operating from a three-phase 415 V feed drawing 10.5 Amps.
In terms of fluid tolerance, what liquid temperature boundaries and system pressures are certified on site?
Thermal engineering on NB-50-160-136 provides dependable fluid circulation between -25°C to 120°C under line pressures up to 10 bar.
For high-elevation urban heating networks, how high can this heavy centrifugal unit elevate water?
Discharging circulating liquid into primary headers, NB 50 160 136 develops a dynamic head of approximately 20.75 m.
Through heavy floor-mounted distribution manifolds, what peak flow rate is achieved on site?
Through heavy-duty plant skids, NB/50/160/136 sustains an operational liquid circulation of approximately 1162 L/Min.
