Product Overview

Commercial fluid circulation duties in hydronic heating plants and industrial process loops are handled by the NB 50-160/167 end-suction centrifugal pump. Equipped with a 11 kW motor drive, the unit features standardized DN 65 axial inlet and DN 50 radial outlet flanged pipe connections.

Liquid circulation capacity reaches a rated flow volume of 1484 L/Min while generating 33.85 m maximum head limit. The casing body is cast in EN-GJL-250 iron with electrocoated protective finish. Fluid movement is driven by a stainless steel impeller with BQQE mechanical shaft seal. Net product weight measures 143 kg.

A 11 kW drive motor powers the NB 50-160/167 unit from a 415 V three-phase electrical source, drawing 21.5 Amps nominal current. Working fluid limits handle liquid temperatures from -25°C to 120°C under line pressure ratings up to 16 bar. Standard DN 65 inlet and DN 50 outlet flanged connections support mounting.

Protective features on the NB 50-160/167 pump include an IP55 motor enclosure, Class F winding insulation, and internal PTC thermistor monitoring. The back-pull-out design allows complete drive and impeller extraction without disturbing connected suction or discharge pipework flanges in plant rooms.

Features

  • All stainless steel shaft construction provides improved corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel alternatives in wetted service areas.
  • Mechanical shaft seal can be replaced without removing the impeller, system piping, pump volute casing or drive motor from the installation.
  • Housing, impeller and wear ring use dissimilar material pairings to prevent galling and ensure no sticking elements during extended standby periods.
  • High-efficiency motor selection is configured to match the specific power supply characteristics, pumping environment and liquid properties of each installation.
  • Back pull-out design allows complete rotating assembly removal including motor, coupling and impeller without disturbing pump housing or connected pipework.
  • EN733 and ISO2858 dimensional compliance ensures interchangeability with other standard end-suction pumps across commercial and industrial installations.
  • ATEX Zone 1, 2, 21 or 22 certification available for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres (except E-model variants).

From a thermal perspective, which media temperature limits and working pressures are permissible on site?

Handling both chilled liquid and hot water, Grundfos NB 50-160/167 operates reliably across -25°C to 120°C with pressure limits to 16 bar.

Through heavy-duty floor-mounted pipework, what maximum dynamic head rating is certified on site?

High-torque centrifugal rotation enables NB 50-160/167 to maintain a steady dynamic head of approximately 33.85 m.

Under full-throttle pumping schedules, what maximum fluid delivery capacity is sustained on site?

Under severe hydronic pumping loads, NB-50-160-167 delivers a peak volumetric throughput of approximately 1484 L/Min.

To prevent galvanic deterioration, what protective cataphoresis coating is applied to this shell?

The spiral volute geometry of NB 50 160 167 is cast from heavy-duty cast iron, complemented by a durable stainless steel impeller.

To operate this heavy-duty induction motor, what line supply, wattage, and amperage are certified on site?

Requiring a three-phase 415 V electrical supply, NB/50/160/167 operates a 11 kW motor drawing 21.5 Amps under peak pumping load.
