Product Overview
Specified for commercial building services, process water loops, and district cooling infrastructure, the NB 50-250/222 end-suction centrifugal pump incorporates DN 65 suction and DN 50 discharge flanged ports. The end-suction volute design connects directly to suction line headers and concrete foundation bases.
At nominal operational speed, hydraulic output provides 1220 L/Min flow throughput alongside a maximum head limit of 57.75 m. Structural construction incorporates an EN-GJL-250 cast iron body with cataphoresis surface finish. Internal components feature a stainless steel impeller and BQQE seal. Total net weight stands at 179 kg.
The NB 50-250/222 electric motor operates on a 415 V three-phase supply drawing 35.3 Amps rated current at 18.5 kW output power. Fluid handling parameters accommodate liquid temperatures between -25°C to 120°C up to 16 bar system pressure. Line connection uses opposite DN 65 inlet and DN 50 outlet flanged ports.
Enclosure protection on the NB 50-250/222 model meets IP55 standards while motor windings feature Class F insulation and PTC thermistor protection relays. Maintenance technicians can extract the drive unit using back-pull-out access without removing the cast iron volute casing from connected plant room piping manifolds.
Features
- Optimised impeller and volute hydraulics deliver unimpeded liquid flow through the pump casing, reducing internal turbulence losses.
- All stainless steel shaft construction provides improved corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel alternatives in wetted service areas.
- Mechanical shaft seal can be replaced without removing the impeller, system piping, pump volute casing or drive motor from the installation.
- Housing, impeller and wear ring use dissimilar material pairings to prevent galling and ensure no sticking elements during extended standby periods.
- High-efficiency motor selection is configured to match the specific power supply characteristics, pumping environment and liquid properties of each installation.
- Back pull-out design allows complete rotating assembly removal including motor, coupling and impeller without disturbing pump housing or connected pipework.
- EN733 and ISO2858 dimensional compliance ensures interchangeability with other standard end-suction pumps across commercial and industrial installations.

Through heavy-walled casing waterways, how much circulating liquid volume can this pump move?
Across facility central distribution headers, Grundfos NB 50-250/222 provides an operational throughput of approximately 1220 L/Min.
How are the wet end surfaces protected against chemical oxidation in closed district heating loops?
Designed for floor-mounted plant duty, NB 50-250/222 utilizes an electrocoated cast iron housing with a durable stainless steel impeller.
To sustain heavy-duty pumping, what motor rating, operating voltage, and full-load amps are required?
Operating with balanced electrical phase loading, NB-50-250-222 utilizes a 18.5 kW motor on a three-phase 415 V feed pulling 35.3 Amps.
Throughout seasonal hydronic cycles, which fluid thermal limits and pressure containment govern this pump?
Safe fluid containment is maintained by NB 50 250 222 for process liquids spanning -25°C to 120°C under working pressures of 16 bar.
Supporting high-mass district pipelines, what peak vertical discharge column is maintained under load?
In commercial central utility rooms, NB/50/250/222 provides a steady dynamic discharge lift of approximately 57.75 m.
