Product Overview
Featuring an end-suction structural layout with DN 100 axial suction and DN 80 radial discharge ports, the NB 80-160/167 pump processes clean liquid media across active HVAC circuits. Powered by a 22 kW electric motor, the system operates across continuous commercial pumping cycles.
The hydraulic wet-end achieves a rated flow capacity of 3340 L/Min with a maximum head rating of 27.73 m. Cast iron housing materials provide solid pressure containment up to 16 bar. The internal assembly houses a stainless steel impeller fitted with bronze wear rings. Net equipment weight is 219 kg.
Power specifications for the NB 80-160/167 end-suction pump call for a 415 V three-phase electrical supply rated at 22 kW motor power. Current draw under load measures 40.8 Amps. Operating fluid temperatures span -25°C to 120°C with a maximum working pressure rating of 16 bar. The housing features DN 100 axial suction and DN 80 radial discharge ports.
The NB 80-160/167 electric motor carries an IP55 ingress protection rating alongside Class F thermal insulation and integrated PTC thermistors. System maintenance relies on back-pull-out architecture, enabling drive head disassembly while the pump volute stays secured to concrete foundation bases and pipe runs.
Features
- Close-coupled configuration eliminates coupling alignment procedures and reduces overall installation footprint compared to long-coupled alternatives.
- Ball bearing support arrangement accommodates both radial and axial thrust loads generated during continuous duty operation at rated speed.
- PN16 flanged connection ratings on sizes up to and including DN 150 provide elevated working pressure capability beyond standard EN733 10 bar ratings.
- O-ring seal between pump housing and cover eliminates leakage risk at the volute-to-cover joint under sustained operating pressures.
- Optimised impeller and volute hydraulics deliver unimpeded liquid flow through the pump casing, reducing internal turbulence losses.
- All stainless steel shaft construction provides improved corrosion resistance compared to carbon steel alternatives in wetted service areas.
- Mechanical shaft seal can be replaced without removing the impeller, system piping, pump volute casing or drive motor from the installation.

Across long-distance transmission pipework, what peak dynamic head is sustained on site?
Delivering steady hydraulic pressure across trunk lines, Grundfos NB 80-160/167 attains a maximum dynamic head of approximately 27.73 m.
With industrial-grade casing hydraulics, what maximum volumetric fluid volume does this unit provide?
Supplying volumetric water movement to primary headers, NB 80-160/167 provides an operational volume of approximately 3340 L/Min.
Which high-integrity materials are incorporated into the pressure casing of this heavy unit?
To prevent line distortion in high-pressure networks, NB-80-160-167 utilizes an electrocoated cast iron volute with a precision-cast bronze impeller.
How much electrical power does this drive consume across rated voltage and running amps on site?
Rotational thrust in NB 80 160 167 is produced by a 22 kW induction drive powered by a three-phase 415 V supply drawing 40.8 Amps.
Across primary circulating loops, which thermal operating limits and pressure ratings govern this heavy unit?
Thermal capability certified for NB/80/160/167 encompasses fluid operating temperatures from -25°C to 120°C with pressure retention to 10 bar.
