Product Overview

Maintaining consistent hot and cold water delivery across apartment buildings and commercial amenities requires a dependable twin-pump booster assembly. Built around two horizontal multistage Calpeda MXHL 403 units, the BS2F 2MXHL 403 package supplies full-load flow rates up to 266.6 L/Min. Where vertical lift is required, the multistage hydraulics can develop up to 30 m of head. This dual-unit layout shares peak hydraulic loads and preserves uninterrupted building service whenever one pump is isolated for routine inspection.

Automated demand management relies on differential pressure switches paired with an integrated microprocessor control board. Rather than running both pumps continuously, the controller monitors line pressure and engages the lead unit first, bringing the lag pump online only during elevated draw-off periods. Automatic duty alternation swaps the starting sequence between cycles to equalise mechanical wear, while calibrated anti-cycling logic prevents rapid motor hunting during minor fixture leaks.

Hydraulic pipework centres on corrosion-resistant stainless steel AISI 304 manifolds engineered for low friction losses and clean water compatibility. Incoming supply enters through a 50 mm suction header and exits via a 40 mm delivery manifold, with dedicated isolation ball valves and non-return check valves fitted to each pump branch. A clear system pressure gauge and a pre-fitted external expansion tank tee simplify on-site commissioning and pressure verification.

Electrical operation is configured for an Australian three-phase 415 V mains supply feeding motors rated at three-phase 230/400 V. Each 2-pole induction drive spins at a nominal 2900 rpm on 50 Hz power, delivering 0.55 kW (P2) shaft output while drawing just 1.6 A per motor under full load. Built in strict compliance with IEC 60034 standards, the windings incorporate Class F thermal insulation for continuous commercial duty.

Key Features

  • Twin Multistage Hydraulics: Pairs two horizontal stainless steel pumps in a 3-stage configuration to maintain steady building pressure and mechanical redundancy.
  • Microprocessor Cascade Control: Coordinates lead and lag pump activation via differential pressure switches to match changing water consumption smoothly.
  • Automatic Duty Sharing: Rotates the primary operating pump after every cycle so both mechanical seals and bearings accumulate even running hours.
  • Hygienic Stainless Wet End: Uses AISI 316L stainless steel internal wet components and AISI 304 manifolds to resist corrosion in potable and hot water circuits.
  • Wide Thermal Capability: Handles circulating water temperatures spanning -15 °C to +110 °C for both chilled water and heated building loops.
  • Serviceable Branch Valving: Integrates individual shut-off ball valves and non-return valves so technicians can service either pump without shutting down the building.
  • Industrial Motor Protection: Constructed with Class F insulation and an IP54 ingress rating to shield internal electrical windings from plant-room dust and splashes.
  • Turnkey Skid Assembly: Arrives factory mounted on a rigid baseplate with pre-wired controls and a fitted pressure gauge for rapid plumbing integration.
  • Commercial Warranty Backing: Supported by a 24 Months manufacturer warranty for long-term operational peace of mind.

What factory warranty coverage applies to this twin pump fixed speed booster package?

Dual-pump protection on the Calpeda Fixed Speed Booster Set BS2F 2MXHL 403 is reinforced by Calpeda warranty coverage shielding both pump wet ends, dual motors, and the sequencing panel from date of invoice.

What peak water discharge rate and maximum flow capacity does this package supply?

Combined hydraulic output on the BS2F 2MXHL 403 reaches a collective maximum rating of 266.6 L/min (16 m³/h) under full dual-pump operation.

Which electrical power mains and automated motor control board regulate this booster set?

Operating on three phase 400V power at 50 Hz, the BS2F-2MXHL-403 is driven by twin two-pole induction motors totaling 1.1 kW and coordinated by an automated fixed-speed sequencing control panel (400V).

Under what maximum static head elevation and line pressure limits does this package operate?

Vertical water elevation reaches up to 30 metres on the BS2F 2 MXHL 403, supported by a 10 bar casing pressure threshold and fluid tolerances from -15°C to +110°C.

What corrosion proof wetted metallurgy and manifold connection thread sizes are incorporated?

Corrosion-resistant AISI 316L chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel forms both pump wet ends on the 2MXHL 403 (BS2F 2MXHL 403), assembled upon a Zinc-plated Steel S235JR baseplate with check valves and G 2 by G 1 1/2 common headers.
