Product Overview
High-elevation plumbing zones and long-run commercial ring mains require substantial pressure boosting to prevent flow starvation at distant outlets. Engineered with two horizontal multistage Calpeda MXHL 406 pumps, the BS2F 2MXHL 406 package delivers up to 266.6 L/Min of flow. Up to 63 m of head is available to maintain line pressure across elevated risers. Combining twin pumps on one frame ensures high-pressure delivery during peak occupancy alongside dependable standby cover.
Hydraulic steadiness across the distribution network is managed by differential pressure switches wired into a central microprocessor control board. Under light usage, a single pump satisfies the building, whereas heavier simultaneous draw triggers sequential staging of the second unit. Built-in duty alternation swaps the lead and lag roles between starts, while anti-cycling logic cushions the contactors against rapid pressure fluctuations.
Welded from rust-proof stainless steel AISI 304, the suction and discharge manifolds provide a clean, low-turbulence pathway for potable or heated water. The pipework pairs a 50 mm inlet header with a 40 mm outlet manifold, incorporating a direct connection point for an external diaphragm tank and a dial pressure gauge. Full-flow isolation ball valves and check valves on each branch allow individual pump isolation without draining the main line.
From an electrical standpoint, the control panel connects to a three-phase 415 V supply to run motors rated at three-phase 230/400 V. Each 2-pole induction unit turns at approximately 2900 rpm on 50 Hz power, delivering 1.5 kW (P2) per pump with a rated full-load current of 3.6 A. Built to IEC 60034 standards with Class F winding insulation, the motors offer high thermal margins under sustained load.
Key Features
- Maximum Lift Configuration: Employs a 6-stage impeller arrangement per pump to overcome steep static heads and friction losses in long pipe runs.
- Automated Demand Staging: Combines differential pressure switches with a microprocessor board to engage the second pump only when system pressure drops.
- Cyclic Duty Alternation: Switches the lead pump assignment automatically to keep bearings, seals, and windings evenly exercised.
- All-Stainless Fluid Path: Combines AISI 316L pump wet ends with AISI 304 headers to preserve water quality and resist chemical attack.
- Extended Thermal Range: Certified for liquid temperatures between -15 °C to +110 °C, suiting both chilled loops and hot water boosting.
- Individual Branch Shut-Off: Fits check valves and ball valves to each pump leg so routine maintenance never halts building water supply.
- Sealed Industrial Motors: Rated to IP54 for dust and splash resistance, complemented by high-grade Class F electrical insulation.
- Factory-Verified Assembly: Shipped pre-plumbed and electrically tested on a rigid base with a mounted system pressure gauge.
- Two-Year Protection Plan: Backed by a 24 Months manufacturer warranty for commercial dependability.

What maximum static elevation head and shut-off pressure can this dual set generate?
Head ratings up to 63 metres allow the Calpeda Fixed Speed Booster Set BS2F 2MXHL 406 to pressurize tall structures, supporting 10 bar casing pressure from -15°C to +110°C.
What corrosion proof wetted metallurgy and manifold connection thread sizes are incorporated?
Corrosion-resistant AISI 316L chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel forms both pump wet ends on the BS2F 2MXHL 406, assembled upon a Zinc-plated Steel S235JR baseplate with check valves and G 2 by G 1 1/2 common headers.
What manufacturer warranty protection coverage supports this fixed speed pumping assembly?
Factory warranty backing on the BS2F-2MXHL-406 shields the stainless pump wet end, electric motor, and automated console against manufacturing faults from date of invoice.
What peak water discharge rate and maximum flow capacity does this package supply?
Tandem pump operation enables the BS2F 2 MXHL 406 to sustain an expansive peak discharge volume of 266.6 L/min (16 m³/h) across distribution risers.
Which electrical power mains and automated motor control board regulate this booster set?
Mains supply for the 2MXHL 406 (BS2F 2MXHL 406) connects to three phase 400V 50 Hz electricity, powering twin electric motors totaling 3 kW under automated management.
