The Grundfos CMB 5-56 (PS) is an automatic pressure boosting pump system designed for irrigation systems, rural water distribution, and light commercial applications where minor leakage conditions may be present. The system includes a Grundfos CM pump, a five-way valve, and a pressure switch, enabling fully automatic operation based on system pressure.
Constructed with a stainless steel pump housing and multistage stainless steel impellers (AISI 304), the pump offers excellent corrosion resistance and durability. The integrated non-return valve ensures stable system pressure, while the modular booster configuration allows easy installation when paired with a pressure tank.
The pump operates at a rated flow of 4.7 m³/h. Based on the performance curve characteristics of this model, it delivers a maximum flow of approximately 100 L/min at low head conditions and achieves a maximum head of approximately 56 metres at shut-off. The unit is not self-priming and supports a maximum suction lift of 1 metre.
The unit is powered by a 0.9 kW electric motor operating on a 1 x 220–240 V, 50 Hz supply. The pressure switch provides adjustable control within a range of 1 to 5 bar, allowing flexible pressure management depending on system requirements. A pressure tank is required for complete system operation.
