Product Overview

Small sites where a duty-point review calls for reserve pump capacity rely on booster systems with no tolerance for pressure variation, and the Hydro MPC-E 2 CRNE 5-2 is engineered for exactly that duty. One factory-tested package replaces a shelf of loose components; order part number 93637780 to put it on site.

This set provides up to 329 L/min of flow capacity. Variable-speed operation can develop up to 19 metres of head where required. A Grundfos GENIECON PANEL on the common base frame provides the system control; the GENIECON UNIT within it holds the exact hydraulic and electrical data of the pumps, so staging and changeover decisions are based on the pumps' actual curves.

The two-pump package arrives as one base-mounted assembly with stainless steel manifolds, two 50 mm manifold connections, valves, sensors and a pressure gauge, plus an 8L diaphragm tank. Electrical supply is 3 x 230 V at 50 Hz with a rated current of 6.7 A. The motors have IP54 protection and the system is rated to 16 bar maximum pressure. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C.

Applications include irrigation schemes, high-rise developments and industry. The control flexibility suits clean-water boosting in new installations and upgrades.

Features

  • A suction-side pressure sensor guards the pumps against dry running.
  • Slow-speed duty and staged switching keep consumption down through low-demand hours.
  • The set ships with an 8L precharged diaphragm tank for low-flow stability.
  • The package is wet-tested and pre-configured, requiring only pipework and power on site.
  • The controller tracks the pressure setpoint with proportional deviation alerts before conditions become faults.
  • Maximum operating pressure of 16 bar with motors sealed to IP54.
  • Rated 0.55 kW (P2) on every main pump in the frame.
  • Stainless steel manifolds provide two 50 mm manifold connections ready for pipework.
  • Frequency converters on the motors pair with permanent magnet motors for efficient part-load operation.
  • Control decisions come from real pump curves, not generic models, via the GENIECON UNIT.
  • Two Grundfos CRNE 5-2 vertical multistage pumps run in parallel on one common base frame.
  • Pump staging follows demand automatically: pumps enter at low speed as pressure drops, ramp to equal speed, and exit as flow fades.
  • The touch-panel GENIECON interface shows system status and allows direct setpoint changes on the door.
