Product Overview

Small sites where a duty-point review calls for reserve pump capacity rely on booster systems with no tolerance for pressure variation, and the Hydro MPC-E 3 CRNE 5-9 is engineered for exactly that duty. Quote part number 93637796 to have it arrive pre-configured and ready for the plant room.

This set provides up to 504 L/min of flow capacity. Variable-speed operation can develop up to 89 metres of head where required. A Grundfos GENIECON PANEL on the common base frame provides the system control; the GENIECON UNIT within it holds the exact hydraulic and electrical data of the pumps, so staging and changeover decisions are based on the pumps' actual curves.

For installation, the booster is supplied pre-assembled with stainless steel manifolds, two 50 mm manifold connections, isolation valves, non-return valves, pressure sensors and a gauge, plus an 8L diaphragm tank. It is designed for 3 x 400 V power at 50 Hz with a rated current of 12.9 A, with IP54 motor protection and a 16 bar maximum system pressure. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C.

Its home ground covers water supply networks, industry and irrigation schemes. The variable-speed system suits clean-water boosting duties with changing demand.

Features

  • A suction-side pressure sensor guards the pumps against dry running.
  • The stainless steel manifold assembly is supplied with two 50 mm manifold connections.
  • Factory assembled and wet-tested, the set arrives pre-configured for straightforward installation.
  • At P2 each main pump is 2.2 kW, covering the duty without oversizing the frame.
  • Variable speed comes from frequency converters matched to permanent magnet motors, keeping the booster set in its efficient range.
  • The controller tracks the pressure setpoint with proportional deviation alerts before conditions become faults.
  • Three Grundfos CRNE 5-9 pumps share the boosting work in parallel.
  • GENIECON PANEL control with touch display gives operating staff full staging visibility.
  • Rated for 16 bar system pressure; motors carry IP54 protection.
  • Slow-speed duty and staged switching keep consumption down through low-demand hours.
  • The set ships with an 8L precharged diaphragm tank for low-flow stability.
  • Control decisions come from real pump curves, not generic models, via the GENIECON UNIT.
  • Cascade logic brings pumps on-line and off-line against changing demand without manual intervention.
