Product Overview
Across installations such as aged-care villages and medical centres that cannot tolerate pressure swings, the Hydro Multi-E 2 CRE 20-4 maintains stable pressure at every draw-off point. One factory-tested package replaces a shelf of loose components; order part number 99614476 to put it on site.
This set provides up to 1068 L/min of flow capacity. Variable-speed operation can develop up to 82 metres of head where required. Because every pump carries its own frequency converter and the Multi-Master software elects the controlling pump itself, losing a control unit or pressure sensor means seamless handover rather than a shutdown.
The two-pump package arrives as one base-mounted assembly with stainless steel manifolds, two 80 mm manifold connections, valves, sensors and a pressure gauge, plus a 24L diaphragm tank. Electrical supply is 3 x 380-415 V at 50 / 60 Hz with a rated current of 21.9 A. The motors have IP54 protection and the system is rated to 10 bar maximum pressure. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C. Inlet pressure is rated to 10 bar.
Typical duty sits with hotel plant rooms, aged-care complexes and hospitals. It is designed for clean-water pressure boosting where demand varies through the day.
Features
- The set ships with an 24L precharged diaphragm tank for low-flow stability.
- Maximum operating pressure of 10 bar with motors sealed to IP54.
- Slow-speed duty and staged switching keep consumption down through low-demand hours.
- Stainless steel manifolds provide two 80 mm manifold connections ready for pipework.
- Setup and monitoring run through the Grundfos GO app rather than a panel visit.
- Constant pressure control holds the delivered pressure flat while proportional mode lets setpoints flex with demand.
- Pump staging follows demand automatically: pumps enter at low speed as pressure drops, ramp to equal speed, and exit as flow fades.
- Two Grundfos CRE 20-4 vertical multistage pumps run in parallel on one common base frame.
- Dry-running protection is built into the control, protecting the pumps if the suction supply is interrupted.
- Variable speed comes from frequency converters matched to IE5 permanent magnet motors, keeping the booster set in its efficient range.
- Each main pump is rated 5.5 kW (P2), so per-pump draw scales down as speed follows demand.
- The package is wet-tested and pre-configured, requiring only pipework and power on site.
- No external controller required: Multi-Master redundancy lets either pump assume the controlling role.
