Product Overview

In small sites where a duty-point review calls for reserve pump capacity, the simultaneous demand of the morning peak places heavy loads on the supply; the Hydro Multi-E 2 CRE 3-17 answers with two CRE 3-17 pumps operating in parallel. Specify part number 99614314 and the whole set lands tested, assembled and ready for pipework.

Flow capacity reaches 157 L/min. Up to 159 metres of head is available to maintain pressure as demand changes. There is no separate central controller to purchase: Multi-Master control resides within the pumps, either unit can assume the controlling role, and a fault is handed over cleanly without interrupting supply.

The two-pump package arrives as one base-mounted assembly with stainless steel manifolds, two 50 mm manifold connections, valves, sensors and a pressure gauge, plus a 24L diaphragm tank. Electrical supply is 3 x 380-415 V at 50 / 60 Hz with a rated current of 6.2 A. The motors have IP54 protection and the system is rated to 16 bar maximum pressure. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C. Inlet pressure is rated to 16 bar.

Applications include mixed-use commercial buildings, high-rise apartments and hotel plant rooms. The control flexibility suits clean-water boosting in new installations and upgrades.

Features

  • No external controller required: Multi-Master redundancy lets either pump assume the controlling role.
  • Each main pump is rated 1.5 kW (P2), so per-pump draw scales down as speed follows demand.
  • Power use precisely tracks demand, avoiding the waste of fixed-speed alternates.
  • Maximum operating pressure of 16 bar with motors sealed to IP54.
  • The system pairs two CRE 3-17 pumps in parallel duty, controlled as a single coordinated system.
  • Dry-running protection is built into the control, protecting the pumps if the suction supply is interrupted.
  • Each pump is driven by IE5 permanent magnet motors with frequency-controlled speed matching demand.
  • The package is wet-tested and pre-configured, requiring only pipework and power on site.
  • The controller tracks the pressure setpoint with proportional deviation alerts before conditions become faults.
  • An integrated 24L diaphragm tank carries small draw-offs and limits pump cycling.
  • The stainless steel manifold assembly is supplied with two 50 mm manifold connections.
  • Setup and monitoring run through the Grundfos GO app rather than a panel visit.
  • Cascade logic brings pumps on-line and off-line against changing demand without manual intervention.
