Product Overview

Sites such as showers, coffee machines and dishwashers competing for one limited mains feed require consistent pressure regardless of demand fluctuation; the Hydro Multi-E 2 CRE 3-5 achieves this with two CRE 3-5 pumps operating in parallel. Quote part number 99614240 to have it arrive pre-configured and ready for the plant room.

The system supports flow rates up to 166 L/min. It can develop up to 46 metres of head for dependable pressure boosting. There is no separate central controller to purchase: Multi-Master control resides within the pumps, either unit can assume the controlling role, and a fault is handed over cleanly without interrupting supply.

The two-pump package arrives as one base-mounted assembly with stainless steel manifolds, two 50 mm manifold connections, valves, sensors and a pressure gauge, plus a 24L diaphragm tank. Electrical supply is 1 x 200-240 V at 50 / 60 Hz with a rated current of 6.68 A. The motors have IP54 protection and the system is rated to 10 bar maximum pressure. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C. Inlet pressure is rated to 10 bar.

Its home ground covers aged-care complexes, hospitals and hotel plant rooms. The variable-speed system suits clean-water boosting duties with changing demand.

Features

  • Stainless steel manifolds provide two 50 mm manifold connections ready for pipework.
  • Setup and monitoring run through the Grundfos GO app rather than a panel visit.
  • The package is wet-tested and pre-configured, requiring only pipework and power on site.
  • Constant pressure control holds the delivered pressure flat while proportional mode lets setpoints flex with demand.
  • Maximum operating pressure of 10 bar with motors sealed to IP54.
  • Pumps are cut in and out according to demand, every running unit turning at the same speed to hold the pressure set point.
  • At P2 each main pump is 0.55 kW, covering the duty without oversizing the frame.
  • Dry-running protection is built into the control, protecting the pumps if the suction supply is interrupted.
  • The set ships with an 24L precharged diaphragm tank for low-flow stability.
  • Multi-Master redundancy means either pump can act as controller, with seamless changeover on fault.
  • Two Grundfos CRE 3-5 vertical multistage pumps run in parallel on one common base frame.
  • Frequency converters on the motors pair with IE5 permanent magnet motors for efficient part-load operation.
  • Energy draw matches the actual job because speed follows demand, not a fixed curve.
