Product Overview

The Hydro Multi-E 2 CRE45-1 is a proven fit for apartment towers, hotel plant rooms and school wings with real morning demand spikes, with two Grundfos CRE 45-1 pumps staged automatically as demand varies. Part number 93320246 provides the complete tested package in a single order line.

Flow capacity reaches 2281 L/min. Up to 38 metres of head is available to maintain pressure as demand changes. Because every pump carries its own frequency converter and the Multi-Master software elects the controlling pump itself, losing a control unit or pressure sensor means seamless handover rather than a shutdown.

The two-pump package arrives as one base-mounted assembly with stainless steel manifolds, two 150 mm manifold connections, valves, sensors and a pressure gauge, plus a 24L diaphragm tank. Electrical supply is 3 x 380-415 V at 50 / 60 Hz with a rated current of 27.2 A. The motors have IP54 protection and the system is rated to 10 bar maximum pressure. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C. Inlet pressure is rated to 10 bar.

Applications include hotel plant rooms, industrial process supply and aged-care complexes. The control flexibility suits clean-water boosting in new installations and upgrades.

Features

  • Both constant-pressure and proportional-pressure modes are available, so plant rooms can tune response to pipework.
  • Two Grundfos CRE 45-1 pumps share the boosting work in parallel.
  • Power use precisely tracks demand, avoiding the waste of fixed-speed alternates.
  • Frequency converters on the motors pair with IE5 permanent magnet motors for efficient part-load operation.
  • Rated for 10 bar system pressure; motors carry IP54 protection.
  • The system protects its pumps against dry running if the incoming supply is lost.
  • The set ships with an 24L precharged diaphragm tank for low-flow stability.
  • Integrated Grundfos GO compatibility supports configuration, logging and diagnostics from a phone.
  • Factory assembled and wet-tested, the set arrives pre-configured for straightforward installation.
  • Rated 5.5 kW (P2) on every main pump in the frame.
  • Pump staging follows demand automatically: pumps enter at low speed as pressure drops, ramp to equal speed, and exit as flow fades.
  • Stainless steel manifolds provide two 150 mm manifold connections ready for pipework.
  • Multi-Master redundancy means either pump can act as controller, with seamless changeover on fault.
