Product Overview

Where day spas and compact medical centres running half a dozen outlets at once are served from a single booster, the Hydro Multi-E 2 CRE 5-2 holds pressure steady as two CRE 5-2 pumps respond to changing flow. Specify part number 99614320 and the whole set lands tested, assembled and ready for pipework.

Flow capacity reaches 329 L/min. Up to 19 metres of head is available to maintain pressure as demand changes. There is no separate central controller to purchase: Multi-Master control resides within the pumps, either unit can assume the controlling role, and a fault is handed over cleanly without interrupting supply.

Factory assembled on a common base, the set combines stainless steel pipework, two 50 mm manifold connections, isolation and non-return valves, pressure sensors and a gauge, plus a 24L diaphragm tank. It connects to a 1 x 200-240 V supply at 50 / 60 Hz with a rated current of 6.68 A. Motors are protected to IP54, while maximum system pressure is 10 bar. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C. Inlet pressure is rated to 10 bar.

Applications include mixed-use commercial buildings, hospitals and hotel plant rooms. The control flexibility suits clean-water boosting in new installations and upgrades.

Features

  • Two Grundfos CRE 5-2 pumps share the boosting work in parallel.
  • The set ships with an 24L precharged diaphragm tank for low-flow stability.
  • The system protects its pumps against dry running if the incoming supply is lost.
  • Setup and monitoring run through the Grundfos GO app rather than a panel visit.
  • Variable speed comes from frequency converters matched to IE5 permanent magnet motors, keeping the booster set in its efficient range.
  • Factory assembled and wet-tested, the set arrives pre-configured for straightforward installation.
  • Multi-Master redundancy means either pump can act as controller, with seamless changeover on fault.
  • At P2 each main pump is 0.55 kW, covering the duty without oversizing the frame.
  • Slow-speed duty and staged switching keep consumption down through low-demand hours.
  • Rated for 10 bar system pressure; motors carry IP54 protection.
  • Constant pressure control holds the delivered pressure flat while proportional mode lets setpoints flex with demand.
  • Stainless steel manifolds provide two 50 mm manifold connections ready for pipework.
  • Pump staging follows demand automatically: pumps enter at low speed as pressure drops, ramp to equal speed, and exit as flow fades.
