Product Overview
The Hydro Multi-E 3 CRE 20-1 is a proven fit for aged-care villages and medical centres that cannot tolerate pressure swings, with three Grundfos CRE 20-1 pumps staged automatically as demand varies. Specify part number 99614467 and the whole set lands tested, assembled and ready for pipework.
Flow capacity reaches 1734 L/min. Up to 20 metres of head is available to maintain pressure as demand changes. Because every pump carries its own frequency converter and the Multi-Master software elects the controlling pump itself, losing a control unit or pressure sensor means seamless handover rather than a shutdown.
The three-pump package arrives as one base-mounted assembly with stainless steel manifolds, two 100 mm manifold connections, valves, sensors and a pressure gauge, plus a 24L diaphragm tank. Electrical supply is 3 x 380-415 V at 50 / 60 Hz with a rated current of 13.3 A. The motors have IP54 protection and the system is rated to 10 bar maximum pressure. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C. Inlet pressure is rated to 10 bar.
Expect it on hospitals and mixed-use commercial buildings sites, plus aged-care complexes duties. It provides clean-water pressure boosting for both new plant rooms and refits.
Features
- Constant pressure control holds the delivered pressure flat while proportional mode lets setpoints flex with demand.
- Rated for 10 bar system pressure; motors carry IP54 protection.
- Frequency converters on the motors pair with IE5 permanent magnet motors for efficient part-load operation.
- Three Grundfos CRE 20-1 vertical multistage pumps run in parallel on one common base frame.
- Multi-Master redundancy means either pump can act as controller, with seamless changeover on fault.
- Dry-running protection is built into the control, protecting the pumps if the suction supply is interrupted.
- Setup and monitoring run through the Grundfos GO app rather than a panel visit.
- Stainless steel manifolds provide two 100 mm manifold connections ready for pipework.
- An integrated 24L diaphragm tank carries small draw-offs and limits pump cycling.
- Pump staging follows demand automatically: pumps enter at low speed as pressure drops, ramp to equal speed, and exit as flow fades.
- Energy draw matches the actual job because speed follows demand, not a fixed curve.
- Factory assembled and wet-tested, the set arrives pre-configured for straightforward installation.
- Each main pump is rated 2.2 kW (P2), so per-pump draw scales down as speed follows demand.
