Product Overview

Where business parks adding tenancies faster than their mains can serve are served from a single booster, the Hydro Multi-E 3 CRE 20-6 holds pressure steady as three CRE 20-6 pumps respond to changing flow. The complete system ships factory assembled and tested under part number 99657297.

It handles flows up to 1576 L/min across the system. The pumps can develop up to 123 metres of head when pressure demand increases. Because every pump carries its own frequency converter and the Multi-Master software elects the controlling pump itself, losing a control unit or pressure sensor means seamless handover rather than a shutdown.

Factory assembled on a common base, the set combines stainless steel pipework, two 100 mm manifold connections, isolation and non-return valves, pressure sensors and a gauge, plus a 24L diaphragm tank. It connects to a 3 x 380-415 V supply at 50 / 60 Hz with a rated current of 44.9 A. Motors are protected to IP54, while maximum system pressure is 16 bar. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C. Inlet pressure is rated to 16 bar.

Applications include high-rise apartments, hotel plant rooms and aged-care complexes. The control flexibility suits clean-water boosting in new installations and upgrades.

Features

  • Frequency converters on the motors pair with IE5 permanent magnet motors for efficient part-load operation.
  • Pump staging follows demand automatically: pumps enter at low speed as pressure drops, ramp to equal speed, and exit as flow fades.
  • Multi-Master redundancy means either pump can act as controller, with seamless changeover on fault.
  • Three Grundfos CRE 20-6 vertical multistage pumps run in parallel on one common base frame.
  • Dry-running protection is built into the control, protecting the pumps if the suction supply is interrupted.
  • The controller tracks the pressure setpoint with proportional deviation alerts before conditions become faults.
  • The stainless steel manifold assembly is supplied with two 100 mm manifold connections.
  • An integrated 24L diaphragm tank carries small draw-offs and limits pump cycling.
  • Maximum operating pressure of 16 bar with motors sealed to IP54.
  • Each main pump is rated 7.5 kW (P2), so per-pump draw scales down as speed follows demand.
  • Energy draw matches the actual job because speed follows demand, not a fixed curve.
  • Setup and monitoring run through the Grundfos GO app rather than a panel visit.
  • The package is wet-tested and pre-configured, requiring only pipework and power on site.
