Product Overview
For school blocks and council facilities fed by long, pressure-hungry reticulation, a factory-assembled HYDRO MULTI-E 3 CRE 20-8 package provides a well-matched solution, with three CRE 20-8 pumps staged against the demand curve. One factory-tested package replaces a shelf of loose components; order part number 99614481 to put it on site.
The system supports flow rates up to 1610 L/min. It can develop up to 166 metres of head for dependable pressure boosting. Because every pump carries its own frequency converter and the Multi-Master software elects the controlling pump itself, losing a control unit or pressure sensor means seamless handover rather than a shutdown.
For installation, the booster is supplied pre-assembled with stainless steel manifolds, two 100 mm manifold connections, isolation valves, non-return valves, pressure sensors and a gauge, plus an 8L diaphragm tank. It is designed for 3 x 380-415 V power at 50 / 60 Hz with a rated current of 64.6 A, with IP55 motor protection and a 25 bar maximum system pressure. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C. Inlet pressure is rated to 16 bar.
Typical duty sits with mixed-use commercial buildings, hospitals and industrial process supply. It is designed for clean-water pressure boosting where demand varies through the day.
Features
- The controller tracks the pressure setpoint with proportional deviation alerts before conditions become faults.
- An integrated 8L diaphragm tank carries small draw-offs and limits pump cycling.
- Power use precisely tracks demand, avoiding the waste of fixed-speed alternates.
- The package is wet-tested and pre-configured, requiring only pipework and power on site.
- Dry-running protection is built into the control, protecting the pumps if the suction supply is interrupted.
- Each pump is driven by IE5 permanent magnet motors with frequency-controlled speed matching demand.
- Three Grundfos CRE 20-8 pumps share the boosting work in parallel.
- The stainless steel manifold assembly is supplied with two 100 mm manifold connections.
- Integrated Grundfos GO compatibility supports configuration, logging and diagnostics from a phone.
- Pump staging follows demand automatically: pumps enter at low speed as pressure drops, ramp to equal speed, and exit as flow fades.
- Multi-Master redundancy means either pump can act as controller, with seamless changeover on fault.
- Each main pump is rated 11 kW (P2), so per-pump draw scales down as speed follows demand.
- Rated for 25 bar system pressure; motors carry IP55 protection.
