Product Overview

Where holiday units and boutique apartment blocks juggling showers at the morning peak are served from a single booster, the Hydro Multi-E 3 CRE 3-17 holds pressure steady as three CRE 3-17 pumps respond to changing flow. Specify part number 99614316 and the whole set lands tested, assembled and ready for pipework.

Flow capacity reaches 233 L/min. Up to 159 metres of head is available to maintain pressure as demand changes. There is no separate central controller to purchase: Multi-Master control resides within the pumps, either unit can assume the controlling role, and a fault is handed over cleanly without interrupting supply.

Factory assembled on a common base, the set combines stainless steel pipework, two 50 mm manifold connections, isolation and non-return valves, pressure sensors and a gauge, plus a 24L diaphragm tank. It connects to a 3 x 380-415 V supply at 50 / 60 Hz with a rated current of 9.3 A. Motors are protected to IP54, while maximum system pressure is 16 bar. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C. Inlet pressure is rated to 16 bar.

Typical duty sits with high-rise apartments, mixed-use commercial buildings and hospitals. It is designed for clean-water pressure boosting where demand varies through the day.

Features

  • Variable speed comes from frequency converters matched to IE5 permanent magnet motors, keeping the booster set in its efficient range.
  • The set ships with an 24L precharged diaphragm tank for low-flow stability.
  • Three Grundfos CRE 3-17 vertical multistage pumps run in parallel on one common base frame.
  • Power use precisely tracks demand, avoiding the waste of fixed-speed alternates.
  • Stainless steel manifolds provide two 50 mm manifold connections ready for pipework.
  • Dry-running protection is built into the control, protecting the pumps if the suction supply is interrupted.
  • Both constant-pressure and proportional-pressure modes are available, so plant rooms can tune response to pipework.
  • Pumps are cut in and out according to demand, every running unit turning at the same speed to hold the pressure set point.
  • Multi-Master redundancy means either pump can act as controller, with seamless changeover on fault.
  • Maximum operating pressure of 16 bar with motors sealed to IP54.
  • Integrated Grundfos GO compatibility supports configuration, logging and diagnostics from a phone.
  • The package is wet-tested and pre-configured, requiring only pipework and power on site.
  • Each main pump is rated 1.5 kW (P2), so per-pump draw scales down as speed follows demand.
