Product Overview

Where childcare centres and clinic fitouts that live on steady warm-water supply are served from a single booster, the Hydro Multi-E 3 CRE 5-2 holds pressure steady as three CRE 5-2 pumps respond to changing flow. Part number 99614228 provides the complete tested package in a single order line.

This set provides up to 446 L/min of flow capacity. Variable-speed operation can develop up to 19 metres of head where required. Because every pump carries its own frequency converter and the Multi-Master software elects the controlling pump itself, losing a control unit or pressure sensor means seamless handover rather than a shutdown.

For installation, the booster is supplied pre-assembled with stainless steel manifolds, two 50 mm manifold connections, isolation valves, non-return valves, pressure sensors and a gauge, plus a 24L diaphragm tank. It is designed for 3 x 380-415 V power at 50 / 60 Hz with a rated current of 3.42 A, with IP54 motor protection and a 10 bar maximum system pressure. Liquid-temperature suitability is 5°C to 60°C. Inlet pressure is rated to 10 bar.

Expect it on hospitals and industrial process supply sites, plus hotel plant rooms duties. It provides clean-water pressure boosting for both new plant rooms and refits.

Features

  • Three Grundfos CRE 5-2 pumps share the boosting work in parallel.
  • Each pump is driven by IE5 permanent magnet motors with frequency-controlled speed matching demand.
  • The stainless steel manifold assembly is supplied with two 50 mm manifold connections.
  • Integrated Grundfos GO compatibility supports configuration, logging and diagnostics from a phone.
  • The system protects its pumps against dry running if the incoming supply is lost.
  • At P2 each main pump is 0.37 kW, covering the duty without oversizing the frame.
  • Multi-Master redundancy means either pump can act as controller, with seamless changeover on fault.
  • An integrated 24L diaphragm tank carries small draw-offs and limits pump cycling.
  • Power use precisely tracks demand, avoiding the waste of fixed-speed alternates.
  • Pumps are cut in and out according to demand, every running unit turning at the same speed to hold the pressure set point.
  • Factory assembled and wet-tested, the set arrives pre-configured for straightforward installation.
  • Both constant-pressure and proportional-pressure modes are available, so plant rooms can tune response to pipework.
  • Rated for 10 bar system pressure; motors carry IP54 protection.
