The Grundfos JP 3-42 PM1 is an automatic pressure jet pump system designed for household water transfer, garden irrigation, and domestic supply applications. The system combines a Grundfos JP self-priming pump with a PM1 pressure manager, enabling automatic start and stop operation based on water demand.
The pump is constructed with a stainless steel housing (AISI 304) and a composite impeller (PPO-20GF), ensuring corrosion resistance and long service life. The integrated ejector design allows efficient self-priming and stable performance when handling air-liquid mixtures during start-up.
According to the technical data, the pump operates at a rated flow of 3 m³/h with a corresponding head of 36.5 metres. It achieves a maximum head of 42 metres at shut-off conditions. Based on the performance curve shown on page 3, the unit delivers usable domestic flow across typical pressure ranges and supports a suction lift of up to 8 metres.
The system is powered by a 0.45 kW electric motor operating on a 1 x 240 V, 50 Hz supply, with a rated current of 3.1 Amps. The PM1 controller starts the pump at 1.5 bar and ensures continuous operation while water is being consumed. It includes dry-run protection, anti-cycling functionality, and an integrated non-return valve for reliable system performance.

Warranty & Returns
All products supplied by Foundation Pumps are covered by a minimum 12-month warranty unless otherwise stated. Some brands may offer longer manufacturer warranties. Warranty covers manufacturing defects, faulty materials and workmanship under normal use.
- Products must be installed correctly and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Warranty does not cover incorrect installation, misuse, dry running, normal wear and tear, unauthorised repairs or damage caused by external factors.
- Proof of purchase, photos, videos and installation details may be requested when assessing a warranty claim.
- The customer is responsible for returning the product to Foundation Pumps or the nominated service centre unless otherwise agreed.
- Removal, reinstallation, labour and associated site costs are generally the customer’s responsibility unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
- Change-of-mind returns may be accepted within 30 days provided the product is unused, uninstalled and returned in its original packaging.
- Customers are responsible for return freight costs for change-of-mind returns.
- Restocking fees may apply to special-order, bulky or non-stocked products.
- Used, installed or specially ordered products may not be eligible for change-of-mind returns.
- If a product arrives damaged or faulty, please contact Foundation Pumps as soon as possible so we can assist with the appropriate repair, replacement or refund.
