Product Overview
Water distribution risers in multi-story facilities use the Grundfos NB 40-200/198 end-suction centrifugal pump. Driven by an electric 1.1 kW motor assembly, the pump incorporates an axial DN 65 suction port and a radial DN 40 discharge connection.
Hydraulic flow rating achieves 427 L/Min volume and develops a maximum head elevation of 10.17 m. The pump housing is cast in EN-GJL-250 iron with cataphoretic electrocoating. Fluid displacement is driven by a stainless steel impeller and a BQQE mechanical shaft seal. Net product weight measures 53 kg.
Operating current draws 2.34 Amps across a 415 V three-phase electrical feed to yield 1.1 kW drive power. Operational limits permit media temperatures from -25°C to 120°C under working pressures up to 16 bar. Flanged pipe connections measure DN 65 on the inlet and DN 40 on the outlet.
The motor frame features an IP55 protection rating and Class F thermal insulation. Standard IEC electric drive design requires external motor overload protection. The back-pull-out structural layout permits complete motor and rotating assembly extraction without disconnecting piping headers.
Features
- Heavy-section cast iron volute with integral mounting pads provides solid base support.
- Replaceable wear rings protect casing hydraulics and retain designed pumping clearances.
- Solid stub shaft and ball bearing arrangement counteracts operating mechanical stresses.
- Standardized PN16 dimensions per EN1092-2 align with facility pipe headers.
- IEC standardized electric drive rated for continuous S1 operation in ambients up to 40°C.
- Back-pull-out arrangement allows fast access to motor and impeller without disturbing pipework.
- Precision balancing of rotating parts delivers quiet, low-vibration fluid transfer.

What metallurgy is selected for the pump casing to resist internal erosion?
Rugged metallurgy on the Grundfos NB 40-200/198 combines an electrocoated EN-GJL-250 cast iron casing with a stainless steel impeller.
How does the back-pull-out arrangement streamline routine impeller inspections?
The back-pull-out construction on the NB 40-200/198 allows complete motor and runner removal without disconnecting piping headers, streamlining maintenance.
How do fluid temperature boundaries and operating pressure ratings apply here?
The NB-40-200-198 safely accommodates pumped fluid temperatures from -25°C to 120°C under working pressure limits up to 16 bar.
Which mechanical shaft seal and internal components protect this pump against fluid loss?
Shaft sealing on the NB 40 200 198 is provided by a BQQE mechanical seal alongside replaceable wear rings that protect internal hydraulic geometry.
What dynamic elevation and liquid flow rate can this pump deliver?
Operating capacity on the NB/40/200/198 reaches up to 427 L/Min in liquid flow and 10.17 m in dynamic head across duty cycles.
