Product Overview

Primary thermal exchange systems and distribution skids operate with the Grundfos NB 40-200/217 centrifugal pump. Coupled to a 1.5 kW motor drive, fluid enters through an axial DN 65 suction port and exits through a radial DN 40 discharge flange.

Fluid handling volume reaches 477 L/Min rated circulation with a 12.6 m maximum head parameter. Constructed with an EN-GJL-250 cast iron volute protected by cataphoretic electrocoating, internal hydraulics feature a stainless steel impeller and BQQE mechanical shaft seal. Net weight is 57 kg.

Full-load electrical draw reaches 3.15 Amps on a 415 V three-phase supply to power the 1.5 kW motor. Working tolerances accommodate fluid temperatures spanning -25°C to 120°C at pressures reaching 16 bar. Flanged connections feature DN 65 inlet and DN 40 outlet dimensions.

Protective housing meets IP55 environmental specifications with Class F electrical insulation. Because built-in thermal protection is not included, external motor overload protection must be supplied. Maintenance is streamlined via a back-pull-out arrangement allowing rotating element removal while the casing remains connected to piping.

Features

  • Replaceable wear rings retain correct internal hydraulic clearances over long operating periods.
  • Solid stub shaft configuration supported by deep groove ball bearings absorbs axial thrust loads.
  • Standardized EN1092-2 PN16 flange dimensions match standard commercial and district pipe manifolds.
  • High-efficiency IEC electric drive motor rated for S1 continuous operation in ambient conditions up to 40°C.
  • Back-pull-out construction allows drive and impeller removal without disconnecting suction or discharge lines.
  • Precision balanced rotor and runner assemblies minimize operating vibration across all pump speeds.
  • Cast iron volute casing with integral mounting feet absorbs hydraulic forces and pipework stresses.

What electrical connections and supply voltage are required for this unit?

Operating across a 415 V three-phase supply, the Grundfos NB 40-200/217 utilizes a 1.5 kW motor drawing 3.15 Amps with IP55 protection.

What liquid temperature limits and working pressures are rated for this unit?

The NB 40-200/217 safely accommodates pumped fluid temperatures from -25°C to 120°C under working pressure limits up to 16 bar.

How much liquid volume and dynamic pressure does this unit provide?

The NB-40-200-217 provides up to 477 L/Min in fluid flow and 12.6 m in dynamic head, depending on system pressure demands.

Can maintenance crews service the motor and seal without unbolting pipe flanges?

Plant maintenance on the NB 40 200 217 leaves facility pipework connected, utilizing a back-pull-out layout for fast mechanical servicing.

Which mechanical shaft seal and internal components protect against fluid leakage along the drive shaft?

Fluid containment in the NB/40/200/217 is maintained by a BQQE mechanical shaft seal, supported by replaceable wear rings that preserve hydraulic clearances.
