Product Overview
Basement pump stations and primary hydronic risers rely on the Grundfos NB 50-160/177 end-suction pump. Fitted with a 2.2 kW motor, system piping interfaces through an axial DN 65 suction port and a radial DN 50 discharge flange.
Pumping output delivers 762 L/Min volumetric throughput and attains 9.304 m maximum head elevation. Housing construction features cataphoretically coated EN-GJL-250 cast iron, accommodating a stainless steel impeller and a BQQE mechanical seal. Net weight measures 64 kg.
Motor performance under 415 V three-phase power draws 4.5 Amps to yield 2.2 kW drive output. Fluid temperature capabilities range from -25°C to 120°C under working pressure limits up to 16 bar. Flange interfaces are dimensioned at DN 65 inlet and DN 50 outlet.
The drive motor incorporates IP55 ingress protection and Class F temperature insulation. External motor overload protection must be provided by the installer. The back-pull-out construction allows extraction of the motor and rotating components without disturbing suction or discharge pipe connections.
Features
- Precision balanced rotating components reduce hydraulic noise and mechanical shaft deflection.
- Renewable casing wear rings retain pump efficiency and avoid direct volute casing wear.
- Solid shaft assembly with sealed ball bearings absorbs operational hydraulic and radial forces.
- EN1092-2 flanged connections conform to standard PN16 pipework dimensions.
- Continuous duty S1 rated electric drive motor operates in ambient temperatures up to 40°C.
- Back-pull-out layout permits motor and impeller servicing without breaking pipe connections.
- Integral casing support feet provide direct anchoring to plant room inertia bases and plinths.

Which durable metals form the pump volute and rotating components?
Precision casting in EN-GJL-250 iron forms the Grundfos NB 50-160/177 casing, paired with a stainless steel impeller for lasting service.
How much running amperage and motor power are needed for this drive?
Operating on a 415 V three-phase supply, the NB 50-160/177 utilizes a 2.2 kW motor drawing 4.5 Amps with IP55 weatherproof protection.
What maximum volumetric flow and head height does this unit provide?
Operating capacity on the NB-50-160-177 reaches up to 762 L/Min in liquid flow and 9.304 m in dynamic head across duty cycles.
Which mechanical shaft seal and internal components protect this pump housing against fluid leakage?
Fluid containment in the NB 50 160 177 is maintained by a BQQE mechanical shaft seal, supported by replaceable wear rings that preserve hydraulic clearances.
How do operating temperature limits and maximum line pressure apply to this unit?
The NB/50/160/177 safely accommodates pumped fluid temperatures from -25°C to 120°C under working pressure limits up to 16 bar.
