The Grundfos SCALA1 5-55 is a pressure boosting pump designed for domestic and light commercial applications including irrigation, tank filling, and boosting pressure from mains or stored water systems. It delivers consistent pressure performance for residential installations, garden systems, and utility water applications.
Constructed with a composite pump housing and composite impeller, the unit offers corrosion resistance and long service life. The compact design integrates key components including the pump, motor, diaphragm tank, pressure and flow sensors, dry-running protection, non-return valve, and built-in control system to ensure stable and efficient operation.
The pump delivers a maximum head of 55 metres with a rated flow of 5 m³/h and a rated head of 27.8 metres. It supports a maximum operating pressure of 8 bar and a maximum inlet pressure of 2 bar, ensuring reliable pressure boosting performance for demanding applications.
The unit is powered by an electric motor rated at 0.78 kW (P2) with a maximum input power of 1200 W, operating on a 1 x 240 V, 50 Hz supply. It also features built-in Bluetooth communication for monitoring and control.

Warranty & Returns
All products supplied by Foundation Pumps are covered by a minimum 12-month warranty unless otherwise stated. Some brands may offer longer manufacturer warranties. Warranty covers manufacturing defects, faulty materials and workmanship under normal use.
- Products must be installed correctly and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Warranty does not cover incorrect installation, misuse, dry running, normal wear and tear, unauthorised repairs or damage caused by external factors.
- Proof of purchase, photos, videos and installation details may be requested when assessing a warranty claim.
- The customer is responsible for returning the product to Foundation Pumps or the nominated service centre unless otherwise agreed.
- Removal, reinstallation, labour and associated site costs are generally the customer’s responsibility unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
- Change-of-mind returns may be accepted within 30 days provided the product is unused, uninstalled and returned in its original packaging.
- Customers are responsible for return freight costs for change-of-mind returns.
- Restocking fees may apply to special-order, bulky or non-stocked products.
- Used, installed or specially ordered products may not be eligible for change-of-mind returns.
- If a product arrives damaged or faulty, please contact Foundation Pumps as soon as possible so we can assist with the appropriate repair, replacement or refund.
