Large-scale pumping stations and civil infrastructure utilise the Grundfos SL1.100.150.40.4.50B.C for handling untreated wastewater containing large solids. Holding CE EN12050-1 approval, this cast iron unit is built for submerged installation in storm basins and wet wells. It is designed for high-volume environments requiring reliable wastewater transfer.
Performance is driven by a 4 kW 4-pole motor operating at 1464 rpm on a 3 x 415V supply with a rated current of 9.6 Amps. It achieves a maximum head up to 11.2 m and flow up to 3864 L/min. The unit is rated for continuous S1 submerged service in untreated wastewater at temperatures up to 40°C. The motor is cooled by the surrounding pumped liquid during normal submerged operation.
The hydraulic design incorporates an S-tube impeller providing a 100 mm free passage for untreated wastewater while helping reduce the risk of clogging. The pump utilises a DN 150 inlet and a 6" (150 mm) outlet with DIN flange standards. This configuration supports the transfer of raw effluents in municipal collection networks.
Construction consists of an EN-GJL-250 cast iron pump housing and motor casing. Shaft protection is provided by a double mechanical SIC/SIC arrangement and integrated PTC thermal sensors for motor monitoring. Integrated moisture sensors are used for seal and motor monitoring, along with 10 metres of LYNIFLEX power cable and an IP68 rating. The pump is suitable for installation depths up to 7 metres.
