Municipal wastewater networks rely on the Grundfos SL1.80.100.40.4.50B.C for handling raw effluents in wet wells and basins. Holding CE EN12050-1 approval, this cast iron submersible pump is built for permanent installation and handles untreated wastewater containing large solids in civil infrastructure.
The unit features a 4 kW 4-pole motor running at 1464 rpm. Operating on a 3 x 415V supply with a rated current of 9.6 Amps, it reaches a maximum flow up to 3066 L/min and maximum head up to 15.7 m. The motor is designed for continuous S1 submerged service in liquids between 0°C and 40°C. The motor is cooled by the surrounding pumped liquid during normal submerged operation.
Handling of untreated wastewater containing solids is managed by an S-tube impeller providing an 80 mm free passage while helping reduce the risk of clogging. Hydraulic design features include a DN 100 inlet and a DN 100 (4") outlet with DIN flange standards. This configuration supports the pumping of raw effluents through municipal discharge systems.
Construction includes an EN-GJL-250 cast iron pump housing and motor casing with double SIC/SIC mechanical seals. Integrated PTC sensors and moisture sensors are used for seal and motor monitoring. Protection also includes winding-embedded thermal switches, 10 metres of LYNIFLEX power cable, and an IP68 enclosure rating. The pump is suitable for installation depths up to 7 metres.
