Municipal wastewater collection systems rely on the Grundfos SL1.80.80.40.4.50B.C for permanent submerged installation in lift stations. This cast iron pump holds CE EN12050-1 approval and is used for pumping untreated wastewater containing large solids. It is designed for handling raw effluents in civil utility networks.

The pump is powered by a 4 kW 4-pole motor operating at 1464 rpm on a 3 x 415V supply with a rated current of 9.6 Amps. It achieves a maximum head up to 16 m and maximum flow up to 2952 L/min. The unit is rated for continuous S1 submerged duty in untreated wastewater between 0°C and 40°C. The motor is cooled by the surrounding pumped liquid during normal submerged operation.

The S-tube impeller is designed for untreated wastewater containing solids up to 80 mm while helping reduce the risk of clogging. Hydraulic connection sizes include a DN 100 inlet and a DN 80 (3") outlet with DIN flange standards. This single-vane design facilitates the conveying of untreated effluents through discharge piping.

Construction features an EN-GJL-250 cast iron pump housing and motor casing with double SIC/SIC mechanical shaft seals. Integrated PTC sensors and moisture sensors are used for seal and motor monitoring. Stator protection is provided by thermal switches in the windings, a 10-metre LYNIFLEX power cable, and an IP68 enclosure rating. The pump is suitable for installation depths up to 7 metres.
