Product Overview
Deep drilled wells used for fire protection networks and municipal supply benefit from the Lowara 12GS55-3, a three-phase submersible bore pump designed for permanent submersion. This 4-inch unit provides large-scale water transfer with exceptional reliability for critical industrial facilities. Its floating impeller system maintains performance in water containing suspended solids.
A 5.5 kW three-phase motor on 415 V draws 13.7 Amps during normal operation. Maximum flow reaches 250 L/Min, while maximum head extends to 145.2 metres at shut-off. The motor requires a minimum fluid velocity of 8 cm/s around the casing for effective cooling, and supports up to 30 starts per hour. This combination suits applications requiring substantial lift and moderate volume.
Floating stack construction permits sand concentrations up to 150 g/m³ to pass without compromising internal clearances. The hexagonal pump shaft ensures reliable torque transfer across all stages, while the front wear ring works with the floating impeller to improve abrasion resistance. An integrated stainless steel check valve prevents destructive backflow when the motor stops.
Precision-cast stainless steel upper and lower support brackets maintain alignment between the pump and motor. The 99 mm casing diameter fits standard 4-inch boreholes, with a 50 mm threaded outlet. Rated for continuous submersion in liquids up to 35°C, the complete package includes a heatshrink kit for waterproof electrical connections.

All products supplied by Foundation Pumps are covered by a minimum 12-month warranty unless otherwise stated. Some brands may offer longer manufacturer warranties. Warranty covers manufacturing defects, faulty materials and workmanship under normal use.
- Products must be installed correctly and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Warranty does not cover incorrect installation, misuse, dry running, normal wear and tear, unauthorised repairs or damage caused by external factors.
- Proof of purchase, photos, videos and installation details may be requested when assessing a warranty claim.
- The customer is responsible for returning the product to Foundation Pumps or the nominated service centre unless otherwise agreed.
- Removal, reinstallation, labour and associated site costs are generally the customer’s responsibility unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
- Change-of-mind returns may be accepted within 30 days provided the product is unused, uninstalled and returned in its original packaging.
- Customers are responsible for return freight costs for change-of-mind returns.
- Restocking fees may apply to special-order, bulky or non-stocked products.
- Used, installed or specially ordered products may not be eligible for change-of-mind returns.
- If a product arrives damaged or faulty, please contact Foundation Pumps as soon as possible so we can assist with the appropriate repair, replacement or refund.
