Product Overview

Massive volume requirements in industrial water supply and deep municipal fluid distribution demand pumps that deliver superior groundwater extraction. The Lowara 16GS40-3, a three-phase submersible bore pump, handles continuous operation from 4-inch boreholes where reliable high-volume, high-head delivery is essential. Its floating impeller configuration supports performance in water containing suspended solids.

A 4.0 kW three-phase motor on 415 V draws 9.8 Amps during normal operation. Maximum flow reaches 367 L/Min, while maximum head extends to 76.7 metres at shut-off. The motor requires a minimum fluid velocity of 8 cm/s around the casing for effective cooling, and supports up to 30 starts per hour. This combination suits applications requiring massive volume and substantial lift.

Floating stack construction permits sand concentrations up to 150 g/m³ to pass without compromising internal clearances. The hexagonal pump shaft ensures reliable torque transfer across all stages, while the front wear ring works with the floating impeller to improve abrasion resistance. An integrated stainless steel check valve prevents destructive backflow when the motor stops.

Precision-cast stainless steel upper and lower support brackets maintain alignment between the pump and motor. The 99 mm casing diameter fits standard 4-inch boreholes, with a 50 mm threaded outlet. Rated for continuous submersion in liquids up to 35°C, the complete package includes a heatshrink kit for waterproof electrical connections.

FEATURES

  • Floating hydraulic stack allows sand and abrasives to pass without binding
  • Hexagonal stainless steel shaft ensures effective impeller drive without slippage
  • Front wear ring improves abrasion resistance in sandy groundwater conditions
  • Integrated non-return valve stops reverse flow when the pump shuts down
  • AISI 304 stainless steel casing resists corrosion during long-term submersion
  • Technopolymer impeller reduces starting torque for smoother motor operation
  • Supplied with heatshrink kit for waterproof electrical connections
