Product Overview
Designed for borehole applications, the Lowara 4GS40 represents a high-efficiency hydraulic wet end within the e-GS line. This pump end must be coupled with a 4.0 kW (5.33 HP) motor to become fully operational. Standard well installation is vertical, though horizontal deployment is permissible.
An outer sleeve of stainless steel protects the multi-stage hydraulic pathways. The assembly utilizes 48 floating impellers made of PC/PPO + PS polymer components. The system handles suspended sand up to a maximum concentration of 150 grams per cubic meter.
Pairing this multi-stage wet end with a compatible 4.0 kW motor (rated at 9.8 Amps on a 415 V three-phase connection) enables a maximum head of 288.0 m. The pump end delivers a maximum flow of 90 L/Min through its Rp 1-1/4" (32 mm) outlet. Flow parameters follow manufacturer data.
The pump end is specified for continuous water temperatures up to a maximum of 35°C. Submergence limits are 150 meters with 4OS motors and up to 300 meters with L4C motor options. Horizontal installation is possible up to standard motor-rated power limits. The multi-stage design requires proper coupling with standard motors to maintain correct performance under standard system heads.

Warranty & Returns
All products supplied by Foundation Pumps are covered by a minimum 12-month warranty unless otherwise stated. Some brands may offer longer manufacturer warranties. Warranty covers manufacturing defects, faulty materials and workmanship under normal use.
- Products must be installed correctly and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Warranty does not cover incorrect installation, misuse, dry running, normal wear and tear, unauthorised repairs or damage caused by external factors.
- Proof of purchase, photos, videos and installation details may be requested when assessing a warranty claim.
- The customer is responsible for returning the product to Foundation Pumps or the nominated service centre unless otherwise agreed.
- Removal, reinstallation, labour and associated site costs are generally the customer’s responsibility unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
- Change-of-mind returns may be accepted within 30 days provided the product is unused, uninstalled and returned in its original packaging.
- Customers are responsible for return freight costs for change-of-mind returns.
- Restocking fees may apply to special-order, bulky or non-stocked products.
- Used, installed or specially ordered products may not be eligible for change-of-mind returns.
- If a product arrives damaged or faulty, please contact Foundation Pumps as soon as possible so we can assist with the appropriate repair, replacement or refund.

Can I run the Lowara 4GS40 off a farm generator or solar inverter?
Yes, as long as your generator matches its 4.0 kW requirement. It's built for continuous duty on 415V three-phase or standard rural power setups.
Is the Lowara 4GS40 safe to use in mineral-heavy or salty groundwater?
The pump uses stainless-steel wetted components; suitability for saline or aggressive water should be confirmed against the manufacturer's liquid-compatibility limits.
What pipe size connects to the Lowara 4GS40 discharge port?
It fits a standard 32 mm outlet connection. Using the right pipe diameter ensures you get the full 90 L/Min discharge flow.
Can I install the Lowara 4GS40 horizontally inside a water tank?
Horizontal installation may be permitted where the manufacturer's installation requirements are met, including the required inclination and adequate motor cooling.
