The 50PP10 Microlene Poly Pleated Sediment Removal Cartridge provides 50-micron sediment filtration in a standard 10-inch cartridge format. It is suited to drinking water, beverage industry, mineral water bottling, laboratory use, food industry applications and prefiltration ahead of sub-micron filters or Reverse Osmosis where low contamination levels are required.
Its polyester pleated construction provides a large filtration surface area for sediment capture, supporting high dirt-holding ability and longer run lengths. The cartridge is designed for a flow rate of 48 lpm and is particularly useful in low-pressure applications such as domestic supplies using header tanks or roof water.
Cleaning can be carried out under a tap or by gentle hosing when the cartridge becomes dirty. For heavier deposits, it can be soaked in diluted acid or other appropriate cleaners before rinsing. The cartridge should be sterilised with bleach before reuse, with replacement recommended when cleaning is no longer effective or head loss reaches 15 psi.
Thermally bonded construction forms integral joints between the pliable endcaps and rigid centre core, providing added strength and long service life. The cartridge has a maximum operating temperature of 52°C and is finished with white media and blue endcaps.
