Internal fluid velocity paths for heavy metal reduction in drinking water are managed by the Davey Microlene KDC10 cartridge. This model is designed as a purifier for drinking water systems where lead or mercury contamination is a risk. It is suitable for installation in compatible standard 10 inch filter housings measuring 254 mm by 64 mm. The unit provides a solution for facilities requiring chlorine reduction and heavy metal removal within a 1-year service life for drinking water and food industry safety.

Constructed from FDA grade materials, the cartridge contains powdered activated carbon and specialized absorbent media for mercury and lead reduction. The KDF media provides bacteriostatic properties within the cartridge to help inhibit bacterial growth in the media bed. A uniquely formulated polyolefin bilaminate prefilter is integrated into the design to trap sediment and inhibit the premature plugging of the carbon block. The unit features a white body and contains no chemical binders or surfactants.

Mechanical performance includes an optimal flow rate of 2.3 L/Min for reduction and a 1-year hygienic life span for the carbon and KDF media. The internal mechanical path achieves a 5 micron nominal rating for the capture of fine suspended solids from the water supply. As a passive purification device, it operates without electrical power or motor drive systems. The unit is rated for liquid temperatures reaching 74 degrees Celsius and is intended for high-level chemical and metal reduction in drinking water.

Hygienic maintenance is managed through the 12-month replacement cycle to maintain performance in taste, odour, and heavy metal removal. The polyolefin bilaminate prefilter increases the useful life of the cartridge by trapping the sediment that typically plugs carbon block cartridges. Powdered Activated Carbon assures performance in taste and odour removal and organics reduction including THMs. The cartridge fits all standard 10 inch housings and does not impart unwanted taste, odour or colour to the liquid stream.
