Davey Microlene MMXR-MB2005 Yellow 20/5 Micron Dual Media Water Filter Cartridge

Operational load challenges involving fine chemicals and corrosive fluids are managed by the Davey Microlene MMXR-MB2005 Yellow Filter Series. This dual media filter is suitable for potable water, food service, and pre-RO applications where extended life is necessary. It is for installation in cartridge tanks to capture a broad range of particulates. The precise wound pattern provides a surface area of 566.46 square inches for filtration efficiency.

Constructed with an outer layer of 100 percent polypropylene yarn, the cartridge features a 20 micron string wound pre-filter. The internal core is manufactured from thermally bonded melt blown polypropylene fibers with a 5 micron rating. The graded-density assembly is microorganism resistant and has a finished media weight of 9 pounds. This combination filter uses NSF components for high purity and chemical resistance.

The manufacturer specifies a service life of up to 24 months depending on water quality and operating conditions. The larger media volume is designed to provide increased dirt-holding capacity compared with standard cartridge configurations. The cartridge operates with a 20 micron outer capture and a 5 micron inner core, specified for high service flow rates greater than 30 GPM. It achieves this performance with less than 15 ΔP.

Safety protection is provided by the dual media configuration which reduces particulate loading on the inner core. The bottom connection utilizes a double O-ring assembly to provide a seal to prevent untreated water bypass. The filter is for the reduction of fine sediment, sand, silt, rust, and scale particles. A handle designed top cap is included for manual removal from the housing without the use of specialized tools.
