Operational load challenges in facilities managing complex sediment loads are addressed by the Davey Microlene PSDG10J dual gradient jumbo cartridge. This unit is designed for drinking water systems, beverage bottling, and prefiltration ahead of sub-micron filters. It is designed for compatible 10 inch Jumbo housings with approximately 114 mm diameter. The dual gradient construction combines coarse and fine filtration in a single stage, frequently eliminating the need for separate prefilter cartridges and housings.

Constructed from 100 percent pure polypropylene, the unit features a combination of 25 micron prefiltration and 1 micron final filtration. The outer layers remove larger particles to protect the finer inner layers from premature blinding, which increases dirt holding capacity. Thousands of interlocked thermally bonded fibers are utilized in the construction without binders, gaskets, or surfactants. This architecture is designed to inhibit media migration during fluctuations in water flow or pressure with no center cores used in the design.

Hydraulic performance is specified for small house applications with one bathroom, achieving a flow rate of 38 L/Min. The internal path traps microscopic rust, silt, sand, and algae down to a 1 micron nominal level. The 1 micron final filtration layer is designed to capture fine suspended particles within the rated filtration range. This model is a passive mechanical filtration device that operates without electrical motors or drive systems. It is rated for liquid temperatures up to 63 degrees Celsius and is intended for compatible cold water filtration applications.

Polypropylene construction provides chemical resistance and is suitable for applications requiring high-purity mechanical filtration. The unit does not impart taste, odour or colour to the filtered liquid and meets food grade standards for structural purity. A 12-month replacement interval is recommended to maintain the hygienic performance of the system. The cartridge fits compatible 10 inch Jumbo housings and is designed for sediment removal with a white finish and no end caps for seating within the housing assembly.
