Operational load challenges for multi-contaminant systems are addressed by the Davey Microlene SBPAC10-H silver bonded heavy metal reduction cartridge. This model is designed for drinking water systems, beverage industries, and facilities where lead or mercury reduction is required. It is designed for compatible standard 10 inch housings with approximately 64 mm diameter. The unit provides a solution for facilities encountering both biological and chemical contaminants in a single stage for point-of-use distribution.

The silver-impregnated carbon media is designed to inhibit bacterial growth within the filter bed. Constructed from the specified carbon block media and heavy metal reduction absorbent, the housing contains silver-impregnated Bonded Powdered Activated Carbon. This model provides a nominal 0.5 micron rating for the mechanical removal of Giardia and Cryptosporidium cysts. It complies with AS/NZ 4348 standards for greater than 99.9 percent cyst removal. The cartridge construction does not require gaskets or a centre core.

Mechanical performance metrics include an optimal flow rate of 2.9 L/Min for reduction and a maximum flow rate of 15 L/Min. The internal mechanical path achieves a 1 micron absolute rating for the capture of microscopic suspended solids from the water stream. As a passive mechanical and chemical filter, it functions without electrical power or motor drive systems. The unit is rated for both cold and hot water service up to 82 degrees Celsius, making it versatile for diverse industrial needs. It fits standard 64 mm diameter housings.

The cartridge has a recommended service life of 12 months and a total capacity of 75,700 litres for treatment volume. The unit must be run for at least 5 minutes upon installation to remove carbon fines from the internal bed and flushed before use. A sediment prefilter is recommended as a low-cost precaution to inhibit the clogging of active media sites. The cartridge fits compatible standard 10 inch housings and does not impart taste, odour or colour to the purified water. It is intended for compatible cold and hot water service.
