Potable water disinfection for residential applications is the primary role of the UV30-CA Davey Microlene UV System. This unit provides a physical treatment process that works without chemicals to neutralize bacteria and viruses. It is used to maintain water safety for consumption in domestic settings. The system can be installed horizontally or vertically, and the pipework should ensure the chamber stays full of water. The process uses 254nm ultraviolet light to damage the ability of micro-organisms to reproduce and cause illness.

Constructed from 316 Stainless Steel, the axial flow reactor chamber features a polished finish and includes a visual sight port for "lamp-on" verification. The housing surrounds a high-purity quartz sleeve and a high-intensity lamp. It is specified for water temperatures between 2 and 40 degrees Celsius. The internal chamber is designed and manufactured to ASME pressure vessel standards. It provides a clean surface for the disinfection process to occur and facilitates long-term operation. The system includes a true 254nm Teflon-based UV sensor to continuously monitor performance.

The system operates on a 90-265V 50/60Hz power supply and has a total power consumption of 73W. The internal ultraviolet lamp is rated at 67W. It operates with a maximum current of 1 Amps. It achieves a flow rate of 29.9 L/Min at a 40mJ/cm2 dosage and 70% UVT. Inlet and outlet connections consist of 1 inch MNPT ports. The unit is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 1030 kPa. Flow restrictors are built into the chamber to ensure the maximum rated flow is not exceeded.

Monitoring is provided through an advanced controller with a color user interface that displays diagnostics, status, and warnings. The system features Lightlock technology for protected lamp replacement. The internal lamp is specified for a 10,000 hour rated service life. The system includes an integrated expandability port for future upgrades and options. The controller dimensions are 218 x 107 x 102 mm. Maintenance is performed through a tool-free design that allows for lamp changes with a quarter-turn. It complies with NSF/ANSI Standard 55 for disinfection performance, Class A.
